How to set up Contact Form 7 in WordPress - Full Tutorial from Start to Finish
In this video I’m going to walk you through how you can set up a contact form on your website using the Contact Form 7 plugin. We’ll run through what Contact Form 7 is, how to install and configure it and all of the options you may need in between.
So Contact Form 7 is by far the most popular contact form plugin available. It is free, lightweight and updated regularly, ensuring it always works with the most up to date versions of WordPress. What more can you ask for?
Once you are logged in to your WordPress admin you can install contact form 7 by going to Plugins - Add New - Search for ‘Contact Form 7’. Install and activate it. Out out of the box there will be a default form created called ‘Contact form 1’ you can use this shortcode and paste it on your page to display a form in a matter of a few clicks.
The main thing you need to do first is build your form so that you have the fields that your form needs. We cover all of the field options in the video. Once the form is built you next need to configure the email that will be sent to the store owner notifying them that someone has filled in their form.
Some other options available that I cover in the video are Mail2, which allows the sender of the form to receive either a copy of the message or a customised message confirming that their form entry has been received.
We also cover customising the form notification such as error messages, success messages etc.

Great video, I'm wondering how I can change the language in the contactform menu for example the "--Choose a option--" text that appears in the drop down menu, this text I want to translate or choose my own text. All help would be great!

Hey sorry for the delay in coming back to you. Are you still having issues with this? By default Contact Form 7 takes the language setting of the Wordpress install but you can make changes. This guide should help you: contactform7.com/contact-form-in-your-language/

Good job Dan. I have a problem with contact form 7. my problem is with the field "to". I wrote an email, and test the form and the email in the field "to" form will not receive an email. what should I do? thank you! John

Hey sorry for the delay. Are you still having issues with this? Generally the issue is in the settings or the configuration. It could be many things but generally it could be to do with the senders email address in your settings or the form SMTP. If there is something misconfigured in the WordPress dashboard. Without seeing the settings and the site it's hard to know for sure what the solution would be. Let me know if you still need help.
