I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!

Please help...I previously had the feature of having all of my photos that I take using my smartphone, would be also automatically copied to my Amazon Tablet. Open settings > Bluetooth. Put your speaker in pairing mode and choose it when it appears on your tablet.

I have an Amazon account but I can't sign in. It shows registration error. I says it does not match an Amazon account, however I know my info is correct.

Well, the "official" KZread app is not (yet) available on the Fire Tablet. It was recently added to the Fire TV stick so I am hopeful that it will one day be available on the tablet. In the meantime, there are a few 3rd party apps that call themselves KZread. I use one with a blue icon that shows youtube.com. It's basically a shortcut link to the web version. You can also just use the Silk web browser and access KZread from there and save it as a bookmark.

I believe you can use a prepaid visa and then fund the account with gift cards if you don't want to use a credit card.

The Amazon store has a variety of apps that "say" they can cast to a TV. You'd have to do your homework on that one. I've not tried them. You may be better just purchasing an Amazon Fire TV stick on sale for $25 if you want to watch movies, etc.

One time I shared my Amazon tablet screen to a TV using Zoom, a Chromebook, and a TV with a Chromecast device. I created a Zoom call with myself on the tablet and laptop, shared my tablet screen, and casted the laptop to the TV. A bit tedious to setup but it worked. 😊

Yes, you can use the micro USB cable that comes with the tablet (or USB C with newer tablets) and connect to a computer, or external drive to transfer data. You can also upload content to your Amazon Cloud Drive using your computer, and that content will then be available on your Fire tablet. Hope this helps.

It's required so that you can purchase apps on the device. They do accept gift cards.

In trying to register, I enter my email address and the password I use at Amazon, and it says there is an error. I don't know what else to do. On my laptop, I log on to Amazon easily with the same information. Why isn't this working?

I get the same issue because I erased ads, put Google and KZread and more on it using Developer mode. If you did anything like that, this may be why. Also, if you bought an Amazon fire for anyone else--I bought one for my husband, Amazon may think you have already registered your own tablet, so call them and explain.

I have been trying to set up my fire hd 8 ALL day...I keep getting an error message. I have an existing Amazon account and all the info is fine. Going nuts...should not be this difficult.🤔

I don't think you can get rid of those. But you can get rid of promotions that appear in the top row of the Home screen. Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Amazon App Settings > Home Screens > and disable "Show New Items on the Home Page" and "Recommendations".

Similar to smartphones, credit card information is required in order to pay for any games, apps, etc that you might purchase from their app store. I suggest you set up the account using your email.

Yes. It comes with an email app that you can connect your outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc. accounts with. You can also download the Yahoo mail app and Microsoft Outlook mail app as well as others from the app store.
