If I watched someone put up a free standing A-frame on their own and with as little trouble as you did, I would say, yeah.. They are an expert! 💪💪Always impressed by your skills Jun. If you want to make it even more streamlined, instead of tying your lines to your tarp, use a loop and toggle. Then you will have fewer wet knots to untie when you break camp in the rain.

I'm a beginner myself and not an expert... Thanks for your kind words though, it's a confidence boost for me! And I appreciate your tips and suggestion on the loop and toggle. Will keep that in mind and try it out next time :)

don't know if this will help you , if your using nylon rope burn the ends / melt with a lighter and they won't fray any more. watch that melting nylon doesn't drip on you though it will really burn! great video btw :)

@@JunOutdoorscut the frayed part off, then melt the tip with lighter or candle, if it starts to burn roll it on a non flammable surface. Have some water handy to put out the flame. Careful not to burn your fingers😊. Happy Camping. Keep sharing. - by the way, try a bowline knot instead of a square knot, easier to untie when done.👍🏾

Utanking! I use 3 blue ones, smaller size. For flexibility sake. I usually end up setting up 2 as roof, and one as privacy wall. Not sure if it's a good idea. And I use telescopic poles, with ropes pre attached to the poles permanently. They tend to dance when it gets too windy, especially on the windy East Coast beaches. I have those pegs like yours, and also some beach type pegs(which work wonders on the beach).

Hi Lovely setup. Was wondering with that setup, during the rain does the gap in between the awning and a frame tarp bother you? I also have a car awning and plan to put my tent in under an a frame flysheet
@JunOutdoors
Ай бұрын
Hi, the gap is quite minimal so in the event of rain, doesn't really bother me. Could stay dry as long as you don't stand right under the gap for too long!
Nice video ma'm... Planning to camp sooner... What is the size of your tarp ma'm ?

I suggest you have the tent poles outside the tarp ( opposite direction vs. the video) while the tarp is on the ground, rather than having the poles under the tarp. When the poles are outside, you can use the poles to push up the tarp from the ground when erecting. Much easier.
@JunOutdoors
Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion. You made a good point. The tent poles are long though, so a big ground surface area is needed. If space is an issue, then having the poles under the tarp works fine too :)
Did you mention the dimension of your current tarp? can't find it here in this channel? the height of the adjustable polls required? my hiking stick may seems too short.
@JunOutdoors
Жыл бұрын
Hey there, I believed it was mentioned in the video. The tarp is 3.0 x 4.5 meters. A hiking stick will not be long enough for this - you will need either a telescopic pole, or something like mine.
