    I bounced around in a wrestling ring I helped set up for an indie show in the 1990s. My friend and I were not paid, but were given a wrestling lesson by a guy who used to do jobs in the territories. (It was one of those old-school rings with a spring in the center.) The guy told us that the ring we were in was relatively good for taking bumps, but I recall being body slammed and suplexed. Neither of those moves hurt, but I got rug burns from the canvas. I tried climbing the top rope which was more difficult than I thought it would be. I actually hurt my neck being Irish whipped into the corner. I was in my mid-twenties, but quickly learned that I was too wimpy to be a wrestler.

    @@xdeejae99go and do it bro. Go to a wrestling school open day or something. Just to try it out at the very least. I’m in the UK and I went a couple weeks ago for an open day and it felt so natural to me. Anyways go do it ! I ran ropes that were literal ropes like in WWE, and oh man, it hurt. Had red lines on my back.

    Next time someone says wrestling is fake. Go buy $200 in 2x4s, put ‘em the ground and tell the person to fall backwards on them one single time It’ll take a lot of lumber but eventually we can all eradicate that annoying talking point

    No wonder wrestlers get hurt. No updated arenas for decades. They need waaaaaay more spinal padding for those falls. Ridiculous.

  • @IndyWrestlingSchool

    @IndyWrestlingSchool

    I really doubt that "updated arenas" causes injuries. Also "spinal padding" doesn't exist, but maybe you can invent it and patent it.

    I didn’t say updated arenas cause injuries kind sir. 🧐 I said they need to update how rings are made to further help prevent injuries. 😂Im not saying spinal padding is a thing. Im saying more padding made of shock absorbent material can further reduce spinal injuries.
