I noticed this vid in my feed. I also noticed that it was 4:20 long so I began to watch it. While watching I noticed it was 4:20 pm so I took it as a good omen and did partake of the herb while learning how to make a highline😎👍

And for years I just thought you could tell them "stay! " Good video, I don't ride, but knots are very cool

Thanks for sharing your experience. Can't help saying - it's not federal land, it's public land. It's ours, not theirs. Peace.

If you put a half hitch midway along the bight "loop" you will have a much easier time popping the knot after tightening by you or the horses. The halfhitch takes the strain of the pull.

I use a pair of old (too worn for the horse and saddle) felt/rubber and nylon western cinches for tree saver straps.

If you use sturdy carribeaner or snap, tie rope then each time just clip rope to tree Saber ring, then rope ratchet other end, easy to use, tighten, retighten.

Great video thank you. Do you feel comfortable using this method for a couple day horse trip? Do the horses get tired or are they alright standing there all night? Thanks again

Could I use this method of tying up so my horses could graze between the trees whilst not getting the rope wrapped around their legs. I was thinking maybe a loose ring running along the rope so the horse can move up and down the length of the rope but not obviously wander off. Thanks

Well depends on how long you leave them. If you let your horses move around, they could get too close to the tree and rub on the side of the bark.
