Many thanks, my machine had been sat for a long time, this obviously produced unknown issues. Having watched your video, I took out the brew unit which was a little stiff. Pushing it down and back up a few times accompanied by a wash fixed the issue!

For the future it's worth to inspect o-rings inside that upper piston. I had problems with mine magnifica and the problem was in o-rings that falls apart... No coffe/water in cofee waste container/coffe throwed inside coffe machine is always caused by upper piston or o-rings showed on the video...

Excellent video. Very helpful. I had already replaced the o-rings but my machine still made a screeching noise sometimes. After removing the brewer plate and cleaning/lubricating, it’s now nice and quiet 😊

Hi Simon mine does the screeching sound too but at the moment I can't get the infuser (the part that moves up and down inside the door) to go anywhere. It's stuck in the down position so it kicked the door open and now I can' t close the door or move the infuser. :( I miss my coffee so much. SO glad yours is behaving.

I have my machine taken apart and need to remove the support piece but don't know what kind of tool to get it out with. It looks like a screwdriver with different head.

@@raytalley1 it’s called ‘torx’ and he mentioned ‘25’ and I confirm it’s 25 torx bit you need to unscrew the infuser support.

fantastic video Milen. subscribed to your channel - i like how slow you explain things. Question - i changed my O rings on the brew group and lubricated. also changed the red O ring at the top. now the crema on my espresso isnt as good. there is less volume. feedback please ?

@ Milen Stoitsev No! Don't do it... Always in wood or plastic when place screw back always firstly turn screwdriver in left until the screw clicks and jumps, then right, because in this way you place it in old thread. Otherwise you create every time a new thread and some day you'll enlarge the hole so much that you will forced to buy new brew unit, because the hole becomes larger then screw and just falls in. Trust me, I done some day the same mistake and i had to use larger screw... In this case it's impossible, so you have to buy new one...

Do you recomend cleaning the grinding gears? and if so, do you have any videos of the process. The grinding gears are held by 1 screw, should the screw be tighten till there is no movement on the top spinning piece above the gears?

Hi Milen, great video, thank you for that! I have this error on my ESAM4200S - the lower LED-s flashing in turn and I have replaced the brew group with one that I know it is working on a different machine, but I get the same error - nothing changes. Any idea how I can fix it?

Question for the experts...I have the Magnifica. It will pull single shot but not double. Pump sounds normal at start and quickly gets quiet with nothing coming out. I replaced pump with oem after 3 complete descaling procedures made no difference. Hot water and steam works good. Water comes out of espresso nozzles at startup and shutdown. I fully cleaned and lubricated the plunger assembly (even that plug and tiny hole below screen). No signs in tubing of scale buildup. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I got a dinamica my first problem is the drip tray get filled up really fast then it started leaking on grounds tray then the infuser started to get stuck on the down position. For that price it kinda suck owning one

Thanks for this - I thought I knew how to clean & maintain my coffee machine but you take it to the next level, especially with greasing the internal bits other than the brew unit. Very helpful! What grease do you use for the main screw thread (not the food grade stuff)? Sorry if it's in the video and I missed it :)

my frother bubbles, i removed the 2 black nozzles, i think the top oring is missing on the black end before meeting the metal tube is that the problem? if so is there a fix or jsut order orings

Hi Milen, thanks for sharing all this useful information on your channel! I did you ever discuss the warning signal (triangular, flashing) on a Magnifica S? Seems to me it has something to do with one of the sensor not ready the exact position of the infuser, but I don't know where to start to solve this.

Rob - thanks you your comment, I was able to fix mine. The piston housing was stuck at the top and not in correct position. I took the bottom of, 6 screws and was able to bring the piston housing back does using a 17mm socket. I played with up and down to find the right spot for it to be in position, solid triangle went away and coffee was resumed. I need to replaced the rings after seeing this video though.

Hi, me again. Managed to keep the machine going without opening like you suggested. But now it kept blinking. Can you explain in detail how to solve? I took off the cover and I think I see the microswitch but not sure where to apply the 17 mm socket I see the small cam touching the microswitch next to the motor. Switch seems to work fine. I hear it clicking when I touch it. What’s exactly triggering the alarm?

There’s quite some play on the nut on the spindle. Could this be the main cause?

Hello Milen, I have watched many of your movies in order to keep my Delonghi Magnifica ESAM 4200 in good shape. But today the machine suddenly stopped working with only the Ground Coffee Container indicator is steady on. In order to remove the drip tray I had to open the machine and turn the motor spindle to release the brew group so I could take is out. The container indicator is still on but for the rest seems the machine to be dead. Do you have suggestions where to look for? E.g. motor or electronics ? And how can I verify? Thank you, Gerard

I already have this issue on my magnifica (the insert diffuser lights flash and machine is unresponsive). When put into test mode everything works fine, I cannot find any way to install software (let alone connect to the board). Would a new control board solve the issue entirely?

Great video, thank you so much for the information. I have a DeLonghi Magnifica S Ecam that I cleaned as you instructed but also removed the screws to do a complete cleaning. Now when I turn it on it makes one loud "bang!" noice when it is almost done heating up. When I turn off the machine and remove the brew unit I see that the piston with the two O-rings is all the way up, so that the "arm" that should push the puck of ground coffe residue is not pushed away into the collector. How do I fix this?

I lubricated the O-rings the first time, after three restarts it stoped doing that sound and the problem solved itself. Thank you for your response.

Hi, I have done what you mentioned. Water is not leaving the water tank to steam the milk nor does it now actually make any coffee without some waterfeed. Can you recommend any other ideas?

I think if you keep the o-rings lubricated you will not need to replace. When they start binding it ruins them.

Hi Thanks for the video. I cleaned up he Brew group just as you mentioned. Hot water, steam and coffee grind with tablet all works. When I start coffee only few drops of very dark coffee comes but nothing more. Any ideas?

The first drips of coffee are due to the pre-infusion stage of this machine. The machine sends a small amount of water to moisten the coffee grounds in order to enhance extraction when the main infusion happens. If the grounds are too course, it's perfectly normal for the pre infusion water to rush through them resulting in your observed first water drops. To stop this from happening, you need to use a finer grind setting and this will also improve your espresso. How to set up the optimum grind setting: First, increase the dosage (aroma) to maximum. You should turn the grind setting wheel ONLY when grinding starts. For that, you need to push one of the beverages button and immediately turn ONLY ONE setting towards the finer grinding. I use to calibrate the machine a single espresso in the maximum dosage. Let the first espresso be made. Let a second one in that same setting be made. Make a third one. At this point the machine calculated the optimum dosage in that setting FOR that particular coffee bean. Evaluate the results. If the espresso still comes out too quickly and lacks body, do the same process for the next fine grinder setting and so on untill you find your desired espresso character. Usually, I get the best results between the number 2 or 3 settings on the grinder. But to get here to need to make at least 3 espressos in the same setting in order for the machine to calculate optimum dosage in EACH grind setting. When you find a grind setting that your happy with, you can now maintain maximum dosage or set it to an amount that you like.

DeLonghi ECAM series they are compact make a good espresso and do not break. As long as they are maintained regularly.

Has anyone tried to troubleshoot a DeLonghi Magnifica where the orange preground light flashes? I get the same error if I use grounds from the grinder or if I push the preground button and add one scoop of preground coffee. Basically when the brew group travels up to tamp the grounds the orange light comes on flashing and the brew group resets and pushes the dry grounds into the dreg tray. The grinder and preground funnel are not clogged (which is the manual's explanation of this error) because I can see the grounds in the brew group when I add them and look down the funnel. The issue seems to be some other sensor or counter that tests for no grounds in the brew group when it tamps, but I can't figure it out. I checked the upper and lower limit switches and they are both working fine. All o-rings have been replaced and unit is well lubricated and all parts are moving smoothly. Please help

Имам същата кафе машина, но както при мен така и при теб прави кафето по същия начин. Първо прави твърде бързо кафето , т.е водата тече прекалено бързо според мен. Второ няма каймак , в смисъл същия е като при теб. Аз леко го подобрих , но пак е недостатъчен. На клапана под цедката дето минава кафето е това прозрачното със пружинката. На мен ми се стори че е прекалено хлабава и клапанчето се натиска лесно. Сложих втора пружинка от химикал за подсилване , т.е да прави повече налягане, но уви. Не достатъчно за мен отново. Как може да го модифицирам ,че да прави достатъчно каймак. Имам и още две обикновени делонгита ( не роботи) които правят уникално кафе със каймак. Не е сериозно 3пъти по скъпа кафемашина да не може да направи хубаво кафе.

Main issue on mine is that the steamer stops after only a few seconds when the knob is turned, any ideas what the issue might be? Any expert advice really appreciated, thanks. Love your videos!

This is very helpful, l just want to know if I can use cleaning tablets like I use descaling tablets for my Delongi coffee venezia bean to cup coffee machine. Can I just put the tablet in my water tank and turn on the descaling program? It does not have a cleaning program. And I want to know if the cleaning tablet will be harmful to the orings.

You can, and it won't and you can use plain old spirit vinegar - that's what's in the delonghi 'official' descaler!
