How to service a Festool BS75 sander

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Over time the dust extraction channels in a belt sander can become clogged, especially if you use resinous woods like pine. This reduces the units ability to remove dust from the area being sanded.
Cleaning out the dust extraction path is easy and only requires a few tools. In this video I'll show you what you need and how it's done.

Great manual! Bought my BS75 second hand and dust collection didn't work at all. Just disassembled as you explained and found a piece of paper plugging up the dust channel. Removed it and cleaned it up. Working perfectly now! Thank you for your explanation!

Darren I'm having issues with my sander always breaking belts and going through graphite pads like no tomorrow

Hi Tristan, I have seen breaking belts a couple of times, one quite recently. Last time it happened, I snapped six belts in under 10 minutes. But they were all belts that I had in the draw for over a year. I bought a new packet, and every thing went smoothly. The other time I had a mixture of Wood-dust and glue clogging up the path of the belt (Different belt sander) and the belts were over heating. Am I correct in assuming that you have already cleaned the belt sander? If so you might be having a bigger issue. I still have the original graphite pad on mine. So it is a concern that yours is wearing so fast. How long have you had the sander? Are you able to pop back in to the store you bought it and get then to take a look at it? Keep me posted. :)
