Once Gold is dissolved in aqua regia try adding sodium metabisulphite to precipitate the gold out of solution as the last step...it's quicker and easier plus it's a single step process compared to everything you added at the end

@@johntorres8472 No, but you can reuse the acid, so save it for another batch. Make you use the correct PPE and containers. Search Google for the correct ones to use.

Depend of the gold content, SMB not always work well. If the gold content is low you can also precipitate with tin chloride.

It's hard to smelt pyrite sulfides as it doesn't covert the sulfur easily. That's why the old timers had problems. The oxidized exposed outcrop was easy when discovered. But as they got deeper it had not weathered and had to treat ore differently
