I truly liked everything you said! My name is Patti Welder I am 61 years old and I am riding the true story of a Texas dynasty the pat welder family!! I already know there’s definitely not a title like that for any book as this is a true story with pictures that go along with it dating back to 1930 this is a multi million dollar oil and ranching family and I’m the only heir left to this extremely wealthy and very famous family! I am a two-time Duchess to the state of Texas in the year 1979 which was the year of the sniper in San Antonio Texas! But so many people want to know about the big mansion on the Bloomington highway that belong to my grandparents nobody knows about the people what they look like or what they did I have all the pictures and the true story of what really happened in this family the rise and fall of one of the wealthiest dynasties in the state of Texas for over 200 years! I’m going to self publish it, so that way The thousands of people that are waiting to read this book get to see the pictures of these people and what they did! It truly blows my mind the way my family took pictures of everything they did and yet were so secretive they never showed any of these to anybody! Every day I have people asking me when will the book be out when will it be ready we want to buy it we want to read it everybody thousands and thousands of people want to read the story of this very famous family! But I don’t know what I’m doing LOL except I’m going to do it and then how to submit it as soon as possible I don’t mind being in the spotlight doing signings I’ve been in the spotlight all my life! And the true story of this family along with the unbelievable pictures people have been waiting to read first six years of intense research I have done! DNA is a big factor in this book because it proves who I am and who my biological parents really are making maybe only bloodline left of this family! And it contains everything a good book needs that you would think would be fiction except this is true with the pictures to prove it! Needless to say I need a lot of help so any advice you could give me I would so appreciate I don’t have a blog I’m not very tech savvy but I’m gonna try to make one but I just simply post something on Facebook and automatically get hundreds of answers and messages! I've been looking through a bunch of different videos here trying to find information about self publishing because I have an idea for some educational books for children, and your video is by far the best I have seen. Does anyone know if you are supposed to add the text with illustrations before uploading to these programs, or if you are supposed to add them when you get there. (For Children's picture books) BTW, all the other information is awesome, TY.

The only frustrating thing for me is that after listening to your explanation, my two completed books lack funds for publication. And I've got another 5 mostly completed on my computer. Need to win a small lottery.

I have found a lot of scam editors on Fiverr. I would look at upwork instead. Fiverr has been good for cover design though.

I know I'm asking a few questions but do you need a isbn for a paperback through Ingram sparks and another for a paper back through create space. If I am debating on going through both for the benefits of each?

No, you only need 1 ISBN for 1 book to publish on both IngramSpark and CreateSpace. U.S. citizens should get their ISBNs from Bowker.

I'm so happy you found it helpful! I do not believe IngramSpark nor CreateSpace offer cover design services, although I could be wrong. I used a separate agency for mine :)

Yes, you can commission an artist, as long as they know how to create high resolution files in the size that you need. Also, if you're publishing through IngramSpark, they have a very specific template that you have to use for you book cover, so I would make sure the artist has experience with that. Good luck!

Do you know a UK site that deals with books from the UK? It's a very British story and I want to keep it like that. I had a bad experience from a self publishing website where they ignored me because I didn't pay the big bucks. They didn't really want to publish my book and waited until I got annoyed and lost my temper with them, then they had a reason to refuse to publish it. Can anyone help me? Please?

I'm so sorry! I know how you feel. The best advice I can give is to just breathe and take it one step at a time. There are A LOT of steps, but the feeling you get as you check each one off your list makes it all worth it. Best of luck to you!!

+monica book lover Writing is hard, but if you take it day by day and focus on just pieces at a time, like a chapter, it makes it much more manageable to get through!

I just found you, so I don't know anything about your books. That makes me a good cover analyst, I think, lol. Your cover is beautiful. I love the colors. Now for the details. There's a girl and a boy, so I assume there will be a romantic sub-plot. It reads as YA/NA. There is a futuristic-looking city in the distance, so there might be a utopian/dystopian plot. The omega symbol reads like a keyhole, so perhaps you have to be part of the Order of Omega to live in the shining city, and that comes with complications. I'm not sure whether the girl and boy are trying to get into the order, or are on the run from them. They look pretty relaxed, though. The fire and water coming out from the omega symbol tells me that perhaps as members of the order, they receive or develop some sort of elemental powers. I would definitely turn this over in the store to read the synopsis. I'm not a reader of books with magic in them, but I am a sci-fi nut. So, I am interested in learning more about the book. Is it a stand-alone? Or the sequel to the other book you mentioned? If it's part of a series, that is information I'd like to see on the cover. Hope this helps! Going to check out more of your videos now...and subscribing. :)
