How to Score Using the Horns Series

Спорт

The Horns Action has been around for several years. It has ebbed and flowed the increase of ballscreens on offense, and traditional post players becoming less common. This video breaks down the traditional set up of Horns and gives several options to run out of it, to keep the defense guessing.
In this video, you will get a detailed breakdown of;
1. Horns
2. Horns Twist
3. X-Horns
4. Horns Flare
5. Princeton/Elbow

    Is the Slip a valid option for the Flare screener in Horns Flare? They could look to pass to the slip and pass to the corner players slightly lifting to get better passing angles.

    Yes. Slipping a flare screen in any action or play should always be an options, because it puts pressure on the rim & if the defense doesn’t communicate well, the slip can be wide open.

    Hey, at 3:40, number 30 rolled ball side, should he roll ball side, is that a read, should he roll diagonal to the ball handler's path for the handler to have a double gap to drive at? Does he roll and then go ball side? Cause if he stayed same side of the roll, on weak post, the Empty Side Ball Screen on the reversal wouldn't be there in terms of spacing

    I think what he did was good as far as spacing. You should always roll right to the rim, but when the ball got swung back to the Replace, the two main options would be to post up (for a high-low) or get to the “room” (or short corner) where he went. I think MSU has a plan to go right into that cleared side ballscreen after hitting the replace & #30 is in great spacing when that happens.

    Could you explore Horns "Free" in a later video, i think NBA teams do it a lot and talking to a fellow U16 coach here in Europe, i was thinking of Horns off concepts similar to the ones displayed here, but he told me i could run a Horns "3on3" where essentially we add concepts and actions and develop the reads in SSG over time, and then they play Horns and it's basically a free flow 3on3

    I’m unfamiliar with Horns “Free”. And I’m not sure what you meant by SSG.
