Hi
This is a quick review and how to use this machine. For the average person this would be good enough for viewing on a tv or projector.
If you wanted to do higher end photo restoration, there are better models available for more money of course.
Each picture is saved as a jpg approx 5mb in size. Takes approx. 3 seconds. I scanned approx. 1200 slides with the machine.
A higher end machine will take 1+ min each depending on DPI
There are professional services that can do this job for you probably in every city
I also used the adapter for negatives and it does a great job also.
For the price I am impressed at the quality and speed.

Just a quick question. Are you happy with the quality? Does it actually replicate the slide with regards to color and sharpness etc. Thanks in advance.

Its not a true scanner like a professional model. It does do a very good job for the price. If you are just looking at the pictures or want to print them out then you will be happy with it. When I look at the quality of the 80's slides in low ISO the color is amazing still on a big tv. I have done some editing and happy with the quality and price. If you are a professional and want to restore or do major editing then upgrading to Epson v600 might be an option.

I have this scanner. It cuts off part of the image. I haven't found that to be a drawback, but it does that.. What I have found is that if scanning higher ISO slides or film (ISO 400 and above) the scanned image looks like it was shot through a screen. I guess its the film grain being digitally exaggerated by the scanner. Processing afterward through high end software can help reduce that, but then you have to re-build the detail lost in peoples' eyes. If someone who fills the frame from waist to top of head (a portrait) was shot on ISO 400 slide or neg film, the result is so grainy you can't even make out the face of their watch or any eye detail at all. Are you not having this problem?

I do not remember this problem. It is technically just taking a picture of the slide and not scanning it like a traditional slide scanner. The quality is very good I find. Even when i view them on 100" screen it still looks very good. Might be yours is not in focus or the original sides are not good. To rule out the slides is to scan one of the grainy ones with a scanner if you or someone has one or a different machine. With the device it should also look decent on the small lcd screen. But though I would mention that all of the slides I scanned 1000+ were probably 100 iso. All of the slides were taken with a good slr camera from that era 70s . I had an epson or hp scanner with the slide attachment. It is great and does way more detail and is probably the way to go if I was going to do professional or similar. The downside was it took like 1 or more minutes to scan I think... Maybe that might an option but they are different price league. For what I did it was great though and did 1300ish slides in my spare time.

@@jjaylad Hope that works for you. If all your slides are blurry then its probably damaged. See if you can test your slide on another machine or scanner though just to be sure
