I got very frustrated trying to do this, so I thought I would make a quick video hoping that it helps anyone else that might be having the same problem (I have/used the canon MP240 printer/scanner)
Hope it helps.

This video was fun to watch and informational. Love it!
The *key* was your directive of doing it from the computer and not touching the printer! Wow...I kinda had to figure out after scanning it into my computer the requirements FB wanted/needed in order to upload my flyer to their site (TIF format) but once I did that--I was all set! And here I thought it was going to be either impossible or not doable! Wow...it was so simple and I didn't even need to watch the whole darn video! I had it at 2:17 seconds! Thank you bunches!
I just pressed scan about two hundred million times, when that didn't work, I pressed it about another 50 thousand times then kicked the printer really hard and hurt my toes. Thank you very much my ansome, you may have just saved me from finally going completely bonkers !

Online school is extremely difficult. I take a lot of notes on the things that i read. I usually have to watch/read how to do it a couple times over. Mostly I just get things down on paper because it's a lot easier than going back and forth through tabs, and Microsoft. There's homework every day, and it is extremely easy to get behind fast. You can also print off the study guides that they give you, it's not personally my favorite way of doing it, but the really helps others.
This was sooooo helpful. Thanks! :)
grate video btw love wallpaper thx man^_^
Awesome, thank you. Exactly what I wanted to know.
I was frightened of how to scan my pictures to send them to my web friends and watching your how to scan a picture/document into your computer, works and I don't know how to high five you for showing me how to do this but I do know how Frenche' men show gratitude by kissing each other on the cheek without kissing each other without saliva, you have been Frenche' gratitude kiss. Taa Taa!
Well after 4 hours of pushing buttons on my friggin pixma mp522 printer, I found you! And, within 10 minutes I had my piece of paper scanned. No manual came with my printer of course, only the setup in 7 different languages. I looked for a manual setup download (which ended up being trojan infected luckily my antivirus caught it) just to find out how to scan, and it was just as easy as your method. I'm telling you. Thank you, you saved more hair pulling out of my head from frustration!!!

On my task bar thingy or the windows 7 sign which is default in the bottom left corner, I can't serach for programs. I don't have that little bar on the bottom to search. What do I do?
Thank you. it help me just now.have nice day dude.
Very nice wallpaper indeed. You took that? That's wicked cool.
I need to know how to scan a picture and resize it. What software will import a scanned picture and allow you to resize it?
this really helped man thanks bro!
Thanks dude - found the hardware item via the device manager ( from the start on the bottom left of screen ) Then I did a right click and it opened a drop down to SCAN - hurrahhhh - success Many Thanks
For those using a *HP Deskjet 2540*, only type "scan" into the search. (I got ahead of myself as I was following instructions. XP) *HP Scan* should be at the top of the list, the rest should be obvious, but I'll spell it out anyway. Choose the first option being "Photo to file", after using it once, *HP Scan* will appear in your start menu. For the sake of convenience, drag that sucker to your desktop. Oh, and thank you, Wakaphwap, this was very helpful. : ) In my state of rage, I never would have thought to actually use the search option. XD

hv a prob hope u can help. i scanned an A4 sized paper but not 100% of it was being scanned....some parts were cut off...
Thank you so much you just saved my life
hey man can it scan a full album cd case?
Thank you! Saved me a lot of frustration!
Do your scans look nice and sharp? Any noise? From here it looks pretty good. I tried to scan pictures with my canon mg5250 and i didn't like the qualtity. Its reddish and noisy. I can correct the colour but not the noise. If i checkt correctly your scanner as 1200dpi and my scanner has 2400. Conclusion: My Scanner should be better.
that was a good video. THANK YOU
Does it work in canon p200
