Kumpel is German word for 'buddy' or 'dude', strongly colloquial language

@@jeromerodrigues2433 The German word "Kumpel" is a variant of "Kumpan" (French copain, ital. compagno, Spanish compañero: someone with whom you share your bread). Today, young Germans also use the word in the sense of "friend". But Kumpel was originally only used for miners, especially in the Westphalian industrial area. A lot of Poles used to work there (like my great-grandfathers). But I don't know if that's how the word entered the Polish language or if it's a more recent development. Ale założę się, że Dorota również o tym wie!🙂
