hey Anna , slava Ukrani from sweden. Stay strong i will investigate if i can take a shelter dog. the idea that they sit there in their hundrets dosent sit well to me.
Anna has the integrity to address this problem. Not only do pets suffer during a war, but so does the wildlife.

Thank you for the kind comment, very much appreciate it!
In my home town in Sweden we have a group of people who collect cat and dog food, leashes, harnessses, blankets, towels and raincoats/warm coats for pets. They take it by car to Ukraine and make good use of it there. They also bring some dogs with them back to Sweden to find new, good homes for them. They don't give the dogs away easily- they perform veritable investigations and the applicants have to meet strict qualifications. . When my old dog died, I took all her stuff (accumulated during many years), bought a lot of dog food and treats and some extra blankets and gave to the people of the group. I came just in time, because they were planning their next trip. The sadness I feel for the loss of my dog, my companion for 16 years, is somewhat eased by the thought of having made life a bit easier for at least some Ukrainian dogs. I am very grateful to the men and women who are on a pet saving mission in Ukraine.

This is a heartwarming story that contrasts so much with life on the “other”…Russian side, where they don’t care for even their soldiers, citizens or anything. People’s pets are part of their lives and this definitely helps morale, which is critical (at least I would think, sitting safely in another country with my dogs around me). Slava Ukraini!
Noel has it all in every aspect. Intellect, empathy, business sense, initiative, pleasant personality, and looks good, too. What an asset that he engages all that in Ukraine!
Hello Anna and sorry I logged into the video a bit late. So I’m sorry I didn’t get your guest name. But I will save and share this video to other animal lovers, such as myself and my family. I’ve been giving your coffee mugs to some Interesting People. Such as pharmacist, rock and roll bands, auto shops that do high quality work and charging an honest fee. I have an appointment now, but I will rewatch this video, since it is saved. Thank You both, for sharing how we can protect the animals of this planet. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

Thank you for the kind words Robert, and for watching our interview!
There's a British royal marine commando called Pen Farthing who served in the Afghan war, and whilst serving there, he would often care for the dogs that would come into the military base to be around the troops. When his tour there was over and it was his time to leave, he found that he couldn't just leave the dogs there where they would be uncared for and unappreciated, like in most muslim countries [their people's loss]. Instead, he found a British veterinarian who was also serving there, got him to give as many dogs as he could their vaccinations, then had them flown to the UK in a military transport plane for rehoming back in Britain. He then started a charity called Nowzad Dogs, which continues to save dogs from war zones and bring them to the West and find homes for them. I've donated a little money myself to this charity in the past. War really does seem to have a way of bringing out both the very worst, and very best in people. Those who devote their time in protecting animals, really are the best of the best people in my eyes - just like your guest today.
The bond people have with their pets is huge, like with children. The woman with the parrets is an example of this. Great to see that rescue is for animals too. Slava Ukraine 💙💛

This is the best. What a great guest to have on your channel. Noel is such a great example to humanity. I totally agree with him on "Open Source." I've built and ran some Linux systems in my younger days but with various results. I like how his map shows occupied territory in Georgia, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia also. Nor Dog seems to have found a great approach to handling the tragic situation these innocent animals have found themselves in, and they deserve as much help as possible. Дякую, Анна. Слава Україні!

This was very good, and good for the bones, and a feel good thing! Yes, a lot of goods! :) My favorite part was the story of the lady that went right to where the Russians were to take her cat back! I loved that!!! This guy is a good person, doing great things. I'm happy the cats are included as well as other little creatures in this effort to rescue those with fur that are caught in the middle of this war. And I know many are there that are glad their family pet was rescued after being separated from them. Very good video.

Aww, Sister, this was such a sweet interview together! Thank you so much, to you, and Noel for creating this for us all to see and learn about the important work he and his team are doing for Ukrainian animals. This touched my heart deeply, to see all of the little ones who are being saved, cared for, and treated - animals have no voice and we are -their- *there* to understand their silent language they speak. I strongly admire NOR DOG and the risks they confront to save animals. That takes a very special type of human to face that to help those who would otherwise have no one to do that for them. I worry so much about the landmines and the wildlife and animals who roam around because of war. I've seen videos of some horrific injuries, and yet also seen the results of some dedicated veterinary surgeons who have operated on them to give them the best possible remaining life they have; after losing limbs, sight, hearing, or have been subjected to brutality by the invaders. It must be so much harder when they have been traumatised by war, but they will always understand kindness and caring. My smaller furry animals who have chosen me at the rescue centres here in the UK, over the years - some have had extremely traumatic pasts. And, even those who the centres have said were vicious animals, just needed time, understanding and a calm place, to work through their emotions as they get to know you... and that you are safe to be with, and their new home is a safe place to be in. They have been the most beautiful furry companions a person can wish for and not vicious at all. I've never seen a racoon in real life, those video clips were super lovely 💞 The doggies and kitties too, are just *adorable!* All throughout my years at home with my parents, we *always* had dogs and cats. I really think that helped my (veteran) Dad when he was home with us. So I can see why they are now with people as therapy companions... animals sense so much, and they understand we need to heal too, sometimes.

Bless you and thank you, dear François. Yes, animals can teach us a lot, for sure. We learnt firstly about mutual respect, and we can apply that in our sphere of human company. Most animals have that basic instinct whereby they have no intent to harm us, but they must guard themselves and people should take that into account around them. What a fantastic interview! Thank you Anna for sharing this important work with us. And thank you Noel and everyone at Nor-Dog for doing what you do.
After the Russian invasion Reuters published a video montage called 'Dogs of War'. The photo that most captured my attention and heart was an old man who was being evacuated from a bombed out town saying goodbye to his dog whom he would never see again. The old man and his dog brought home to me the painful reality of this senseless war. I cried after looking at these photos. All I can say is that Noel and his team are wonderful people with big hearts!

I live in Ukraine. I am an Australian that lives there. Australians treat dogs like children but it was a shock for me when I went to Ukraine . A big problem is dogs spend their entire lives in small cages or on a chain because either they are very vicious from trauma or are so friendly they jump and put muddy paws or walk in the garden. Instead of fencing gardens they chain dogs.
Brilliant interview Anna, you would make a nice couple as your laugh & smile is infectious, 2 people both doing good for Ukraine
