I just ordered myself one! A black model y, my credit is 794 which is pretty good for only being 23 I wanna say. It comes in 2-4 weeks I’m excited!!!

Great advice... I'm thinking about executing the same exact strategy creating a tbill ladder with the funds I would have otherwise used for the downpayment.

Dude give a different perspective on financing a Tesla. Now I’m looking at it, it makes great sense. I was considering putting down $25k for lower monthly payment. But it won’t make sense.

I placed an order on 5/13. Didn’t have to put anything down and taxes were rolled in into the loan. Also received an additional credit of 4,950 from purchasing a Model Y from their inventory (Brand new 2023)

@@teddy0139He’s probably talking about the existing inventory of the RWD 260 miles range that are not available to order anymore. Those maybe can have the option to software upgrade range for like 2k according to Elon’s twit

Ordered one and my score was a good bit higher than 720. Still in the 700's. I had to make the down payment and they came back with 2.49% rate. I called and asked about it at the dealership where my car was, she said she would call corporate and have them call me. Thirty minutes later I received a text message to check the app about my financing terms, when I did it showed that my new rate was at .99%. So I was able to get it. Just watch what they are doing and ask questions. Driving it now and love the car but I had to put down a down payment.

That's a great question, honestly. I believe the financing was only available to buy, not lease. But we never really looked into the lease option.

Robinhood gold, cash account pays 5%. Definitely finance at 0.99% even if you have cash for the car, leaving it in 5% cash account, making 4%.

With the options we selected (tow package, 7 seats, etc...) it came to about $700 for 72 months at 0.99%

Is the no down payment option also applied in California?

Yes I just did it but you can only do it after pay the $250 to reserve your Model Y.

The tesla rep on the phone told me that the $4,250 down payment is required for the 0.99% promo. Can you please provide any details saying it doesn't. I don't see any fine prints and I'm not sure

When I visited in person, my rep told me that no down payment was required... that the approx. $4,000 was just a "default value" but not required. We actually just placed our Model Y order the other day with the promotional rate and did not make a down payment. :)

Once you reserve the car you want and put down your $250 deposit (non refundable) then you can adjust to a $0 down payment on your loan application in the Tesla app. You won’t know if you’re approved until then because Tesla actually shops your loan to multiple different banks. It took about 2-3 hours before a bank picked up my loan for the $0 down and .99% APR. Hope this helps

I don’t understand 50000 deposit on cd at 5 percent gives you 2500 per year but your payment is 700 per month or 8400 a year.

Thanks for watching! Simply saying the money should be working for you at 5% or better, versus giving it away to Tesla to pay down debt at 1%. You can effectively profit a net 4% difference in the scenario.
