is there any affect you choose the second sample ( e.je) first rather than podunk as the first sample, your hypotehsis will be swapped right ?

I chose the way I did so I would have a positive test statistic. Technically this should be a two-tailed test, but you are right with a one-tailed test switching the values around would change the direction of the alternative hypothesis.
