Something you left out that's worth mentioning is that people just don't seem to have stimulating hobbies anymore. Going to the gym, scrolling through social media, gaming, and going out on Friday nights are about the extent of people's free time today and there's nothing very mentally stimulating about this. Yes, working out for an hour every day or so clears your mind, but once you get into it, its just another routine like having a shave in the morning. I learnt to play the piano in my early teens and learning a new piece of music gives me endless mental stimulation. I also do woodworking making all kinds of things and incorporate tasks like chopping wood into my exercise so that I actually get stuff done whilst keeping reasonably fit. I am also a member of a boating club and an astronomy club which allows me to meet new and likeminded people, which I really enjoy but there is virtually nobody my age (early/mid 20's). The vast majority are over 40, and you'd be hard pressed to find a club in a different scenario. For God's sake, do something interesting with your spare time and actually do things.

I don't think anything has changed, I just think it takes a particular kind of person to want to do those things. Personally, my life is my hobbies, making things and engaging with my interests. I don't really understand what it would be like not to have obsessive interests like I do but I don't think it's like humanity has degraded. People have always been like this. I approve of your profile picture by the way. One of my hobbies is WW2 aircraft restoration at a local museum.

Called affordability. We work 40 hours a week and only have enough money to go to the gym. I don’t have $500 to drop on a piano or other instrument, I don’t have money for really any hobby. Ya know if we could all just get paid better we would all be happier. The single largest difference between our generation and the previous is quality of life and debt to income ratio. A single person could provide for an entire family, now two people working full time barely affords your basic needs.

@@kaydnburns5935 Can complain all you like but it doesn't cost me to do the majority of the things I do. Can get a good pencil and a sketchbook for a lot less than a gym membership and drawing people is probably the most soothing thing I do when I'm stressed out with work. If you have a computer to send this comment, you can download free software. You could design a liquid rocket engine on Onshape with a bit of OpenRocket if you felt like it. All the theory can be learned on MIT OpenCourseWave. I get these are just two pretty random examples but I don't buy your point that life is boring because you don't have money to spend on it. You seem to be inhibiting yourself from doing these things when you could just give it a go. I completely agree with you on the cost of living comments but regardless of unfixable things like that, we still need to enjoy our lives because they will end. Suddenly.

"Bro" is out here selling snake oil "Bro," just wants to help the homies out "Bro" Buy my course "Bro." I Genuinely feel bad for the people looking up to you. Teaching people to never hold yourself personally accountable, basically saying "If your life sucks, it's not your fault! Everyone is out to get you! Everyone else made your life suck!" One of your greatest powers as a human being is the free will you have to take control of your life and your own actions. No one needs to spend $130 a month for a course from a 20 something year old who, just like the teachers he claims have no life experience, HAS NO LIFE EXPERIENCE. You have the power to choose the decisions you make in every moment, be responsible for your life and your own actions and become a well rounded person.

The guy scrubbed toilets and worked construction, but worked his way towards financial freedom through online content that resonates with people online (sub count evidence of that). Crazy how you define that as no life experience. Entrepreneurship is the hardest thing in the world. Of course everyone has the autonomy to forge their life path, but understanding a common life path and the implications of factors like the school system and corporate environment, and putting it on the context of one's own life can be helpful on its own. This can one start making moves towards a better direction, and avoid common pitfalls. 35 minutes of free, helpful content by the way, in addition to other free resources. Probably hours of setting up equipment, recording, editing, branding, etc. And he's putting his name on the line, taking accountability many aren't brave enough to do. MrFrigid247, the man behind an anonymous account only offering critical comments without well thought out arguments on specific topic points.

Sounds like my friend that loves to moan about how much life sucks and then also moans at how terrible working hard is. So he just exists in a state of constant misery and can't even talk to me about how I live my life because it's a direct contradiction to his misery, and it stresses him out to know that being pitiful as he is, is not the best he could be doing. He would rather live in a state of denial and misery than put in the work.

My girlfriend and I broke up for 2 years to get my shit together when I was 20. Thought we were going to split for good. Both of us became better people. We both developed ourselves. She got a tech job. I started learning skills, got great grades in community college and transferred into a decent major at a good university. I almost failed high school and made it here. What he says is true. Don't fall into these traps. My girl got back together when we were at a good place. Her and I are now working hard and keep each other progressing forward. So I don't know if I'm too late to comment this, nor I'm not sure if I belong here but here we are: I am just about to be turning 26 (as of making this comment) and I am happy to say that I am in a good headspace with my life! Mostly thanks to not having a huge ego, thinking more critically and keeping a balance with everything that I do. I'm also happy with how my KZread channel is going, and I've got a great girlfriend who may be on the chubby side, but that okay! I still love her and we always got each others backs. Sure do I wish some things were better in my 20s? Absolutely, it's human to think that way. But no matter what, I'm doing far better than where I was when I left school. But there's always room for a little bit of improvement. Even if it's just 1%. But hey, everyone is different. Everyone goes through life differently and at different paces. Some advice sticks around that works and some doesn't that don't. It all comes down to how one individual choose to live and take action in their lives.

I feel like a big problem with public education is how government driven it is. The schools have 0 incentive to prepare you to be an adult, just to cram you with as much information as they can to make the government pay them. Realistically your knowledge base after 6th or seventh grade is all you need from general education, and then we should really be developing actual skills. It should not be possible to graduate high school without knowing how to drive a car, apply for a job or start a business, and file taxes.

Good age to be at. I'm 26 and looking back, I know what I'd have done differently. - Allocate 1-3 hours of video game time, no more, no less. Only 1 hour if 2-3 hours interferes with the rest of the schedule. - Wake up before 7 AM to exercise and eat healthy breakfast - Never go to bed past midnight - Read more books - Focus less on trying to do well in undergraduate classes, they're designed to be easy and make you forget the rest of your goals in your life (like the LSAT or similar tests). - Social media is only allowed for archiving your life and staying in contact with people, not for mind-numbing reel scrolling for hours.

I never really fell for the whole school, work, wife and kids ordeal. Sure I wanted and have those things now, but I wanted it to be in my terms. No surprises. The plan was to be developing business skills while working whatever job paid enough to support myself comfortably. My life looked as if I was a complete loser to my peers because I lived at home still at 30. Little did they know, I was building something. So I’m 35. I’ve moved out with my fiancé. At my day job I make 50k and the business makes a little over 60k (up from 30k last year and growing). In 5 years I’ll likely have everything I’ve ever wanted. It just goes to show you that there’s no real blueprint or set way of doing things in life. As long as you keep in mind what you want out of your life. You’ll be fine.

Sounds to me like you would benefit from a good dose of ambition. Wake every day with an aggressive goal, go out and push HARD to get it. Keep doing that, you'll raise your confidence, aura, and what you have to offer. Then, the girls will easily come to you. They are not out of your league either. Just looking pretty is not a talent, and it goes away eventually. Your ambition and what it gets for you will last. Get going!

I am 30, burned out, highly gifted and probably ADHD and this video deeply touched me. I finished my Bachelor in Math with 20 and went on a working holiday in New Zealand after that. Then Master, then another trip. After that I took a 9-5 in automotive, which was decently paid, but it bored me and felt like a prison. Then I started my PhD in Math abroad and - burned out. I thought that it was my absolute passion but I think I only liked it, because I am really good at it and people gave me a lot of confirmation to it. Which I needed because of my lack of self confidence. But to succeed in a PhD you have to burn for your topic. I never had a real girlfriend, even though I am a really good Bachata dancer (and a couple other dances). I would love to have some intimacy, but I am also struggling to really let go with girls. And do the next step. I can feel that there is deep passion inside me. Especially when I am dancing Bachata or playing improv theatre. Or playing piano. I still don't see a market in any of these fields. Or that I am good enough to make money anywhere there. I would love to try different things out online ... just to become independent from the location and be more free. Maybe there is a passion somewhere there. I am financially stable but not rich. I could live a couple years without any income, but eventually my money will be gone. And that's not what I want, because it should be invested to gain more freedom in the future. I still haven't given up my PhD but I feel like a have no choice but breaking out. This is killing me :/ I just didn't have the balls for it yet 😅 Maybe your motivational speech could change a lot ... If I had an advice to any younger people, especially very intelligent ones: Learn to trust to your heart instead of only listening to your head.

The one thing I would add is building a sturdy relationship with God. That’s where your confidence is derived from. That’s where you learn that having that one thing is more important than the rest. It allows you to take a risk on yourself and your dreams. My biggest regret was not realizing that soon enough or reading the Bible for myself before making prejudice judgments. It’s full of knowledge and advice that is imperishable.

im 32 and ive been depressed and suicidal the past few months over getting out of a bad relationship and being harshly rejected by a girl at work, my life feels stagnant and feels like it's going no where but I've been slowly changing by just making small goals like clean my apartment and having a major goal in wanting to pursue a career i like doing in a couple of yrs. Your explanation of being pressured in having a gf and a house was spot on and I feel like everyone in my family doesn't understand what I am going through. Just wanna say thanks for making this video to help me realize I'm not hopeless and theres a future for me.

I believe more than having someone suggest to you how to live, it's up to you to go out and have these experiences yourself. Learn the hard lessons through your own doing. Take these "life ruining mistakes" in stride, if/when you make them. And work to achieve that ideal lifestyle which works for you (it's different for everybody).

When covid happened, I started to learn how I could make money online and acted on it as much as I could. I'm not at the endgoal yet, but still grinding and starting to see results! It really pays off working your ass off in something no one wants to commit to!

Started working again at 24 (last year) after years of multiple chronic illnesses that started a year after I graduated. So many things to work on. But you know, you reminding us we spent 20 years of our life in school helps lighten the load off my chest. Meaning I have only spent 5 years, I should take it easy (different with being complacent). 3 to illness which affected my career and finances a lot and 2 to working (finding out my career path).

in my 30's and would likely be considered a "failure" by most twentysomethings chasing the hamster wheel, but I've never been happier or more fulfilled and comfortable with who I am in my life. once you realize that damn near everything is a well-crafted yet thinly-veiled distraction from what _really_ matters in life, the truth will set you free. it took me my entire 20's and some of my 30's to fully understand this, but I'm glad I did. "wasting" your 20's is a state of mind and perspective. shift it, and everything changes.

Yo, I'm 23 right now(I'm turning 24 in August) and this might just be the best advice video I've seen. I constantly have that thought of"if only I knew what I know now back in secondary school or even in primary school"(for context, I live in the UK) and I honestly thought it was just a "me" problem, but knowing that it's actually a "men" problem gives me a sense of comfort because now I feel like I'm not alone and it actually gets me even more motivated to improve my life and find true happiness than I was before I hit play on this video. I'm super thankful I didn't decide to skip it or add it to my "watch later" playlist and then forget about it like I've done with the 20+ other videos I have yet to check out 😅. And I think it's worth mentioning that I haven't gone through the exact same experience as what you've described but I get the vibe that you're not saying that every man will go through this exact experience. That's not the point. My story so far might not be exactly the same but I have the same feeling of hopelessness regardless and this video captured those feelings regardless of the specifics. Thank you Denmo! As a 23 year old man, I've become even more motivated to improve my life🥰.
