For real. And that root rake in that machine ain't taking many stumps our of the ground. And your not supposed to have it down in the dirt. it rides on top of the dirt. I run the same rig.

When I used to clear in Florida. As long as it wasn’t muddy and crappy land that you would sink into. We switched to all wheel loaders Deere 624/644 with skidder like tires and put root rake, grapple on them. Most of time dozers would sit. Tires are cheaper then undercarriages. Also can pick up materials and load/run grinder. In nj we shear most stuff skid and chip or log off wood then come stump, put it off road truck then dump into pile and grind stumps/big logs. Or smaller acerage clear whole tree break up trees put into pile and grind. But unless you have a high hp horizontal with big opening you would have to use a stump shear to decrease material. We Always used tubs except for close highway or development work. There’s tens of thousands of ways to clear but think it’s all about the size of trees long neck pine in the Carolinas can just clear with a hoe , break up n grind. Big oak , gum, maples , etc if u can log the good wood can get paid or the clean chips used to be worth $$. You seem to be growing in the upstate. Keep it going

Interesting to see how others do land clearing. I'm an owner operator up in Canada with a 973C and we dont have much for trees, mainly just sloughs and bush. The rake seems to work a lot like how i do with the teeth of my bucket, to get the best results ive found doing shorter passes. Once the roots and stumps build up in front it can't shed the soil anymore and it becomes a soft plow.

Lmao! Was listening and trying not to be disagreeable with the young man in the video.now here you are ahead of me! Use of the rake was a cluster at best. Clearly a lack of expierence running a rake and yehere he is making a video. If he wanted to show off his new tractor he should have just made a video about the tractor and its features. Bought a wide pad tractor to run clearing/raking jobs? We only bought LGPs to get the other tractors out if they were having trouble or we had a very wet job. For those who dont know and are watching for learning purpose… the LGP tractors spead the weight of the tractor tracks footprint on the ground by having more surface are. The drawbacks are simple physics. The wider the pad the less traction the tractor gets when the blade is loaded up and also is much harder on the final drives and under carriage because of more stress induced during turns as well as forward and backward movement. Always get a winch if you buy an LGP tractor because you are normally going places that are risky at best and you will need the winch for that tractor as well as the other equipment on a regular basis. P.S. seeing the Hundayi was not a shock. If it aint a CAT it must be a Dawg!

Looks like a nice easy job because terrain and soil or rock type make all the difference. If you want to highball stacking that brush those wheel skidders with brush blades are FAST.

Got a question. On our farm we clears about 12 acres about 15 years ago pushed all the big trees for the most part up then it grew back up with some smaller stuff and we mukched it with a skidsteer and ran a big disc over it a few months later but there’s still some stumps and what not. Would y’all think it would be a good idea to run our d6d with a root rake through it to really clean it up good and get everything out so we can ensure it won’t harm our equipment when running a smaller disc and seeder over

I hope that dude was just trying out your dozer for amin. If he's your operator theys alot of ass in the seat getting the feel of it in his future. Do not burry the rake like he did. You will chase roots for days. You just do get enough dirt in w you if pushing small stuff that will come thru the rake to hold it togather to get to ur pile. If you have to burn this stuff you will have to know what you got and plan the distance from pike to start rolling it so when you get to pile it is clean. No matter what, if you have a torch on it dirt will not burn. The d6n is the biggest you will need. W clearing and having to go thru bottoms more than once, especially w rolling dirt out if your rake the big doErs don't handle the back n forth of rolling or about a pickup truck length direction change. The bigger the dozer the harder it is on the transmission.

Our local power company put up a 200 acre solar farm (mostly at taxpayer expense). Then charged us for the thing we just paid to have built. Fastforward 4 years, they had become so inefficient that it was "no longer cost effective to maintain." So now there's a giant field of solar panels that don't do anything except leak toxic waste when they crack.🙃 Whenever government and business collaborate to "Do something good for the community." or "Do something good for the climate." You can be about 75% sure that it's going to be something *_detrimental,_* not "something good" for the community or the climate!
