This was the only tutorial I could find that worked perfectly, not a single hitch. Thank you!
Straight as ray...Thanks man
worked for me, good shit
I can't believe how simple this is... I own a Pixel 7a myself and I only just flash ROMs without even knowing you could Root the phone. Now that I know this and that you CAN flash Root EVEN in the Factory Images, I'm more inclined to flash root to what ROM I use in the future. Be it GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, LineageOS, or the Default Factory Image.
awesome
All I can find in the files is an init boot disc image file and when I try to open it, it says it's corrupted- but there isn't an image on my phone for it so I dunno what to do- TvT please help-
when i reboot into fast boot my phone is like its not connected i cant do anything past that point

You might need fastboot drivers setup for your device as well

5:16 why ini_boot.img but not boot.img? what's the difference between them? i saw from a tutorial from a different channel using boot.img ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/hn52r8-ufdOfirA.html ), what if i choose boot.img?

It has something to do with these changes they made in Android 13: "In Android 12, the generic boot image, referred to as Generic Kernel Image (GKI), contains the generic ramdisk and the GKI kernel. For devices launching with Android 13, the generic ramdisk is removed from the boot image and placed in a separate init_boot image. This change leaves the boot image with only the GKI kernel." If you choose the boot.img instead, the device wouldn't be able to boot as far as I can tell. source.android.com/docs/core/architecture/partitions/generic-boot

Are you flashing to both the A and B slots? If not, your device won't boot.
