It is possible that in this edition Samsung has placed an eFuse as the trip for the KNOX counter and so you may not be able to reset the counter or get updates. So customizing your Tablet may be a one way trip so to speak.

Open camera now has a feature to save videos on the sd card without a root permission. Its called storage acess framework on the more video controls tab Perfect explanation ty. Only missed the part that 4gb limitation is due to thr Fat32 formatting of memory with 4gb largest pointer.

The flashing with the restock recovery ROM doesn't enable updates. Instead when attempting to update software it pauses then it comes back with "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available." At this point there are about three updates that would have taken place. What to do?

Hello On the galaxy note 2014, it seems that the Ethernet connection (with an adaptator micro usb/rj45) does not work. Only tab4, tab pro, note pro and S , have firmware which authorizes Ethernet connection instead of wifi. Has someone tested it after root please on the note 2014 ? thanks

download the stock firmware for ur own country provided the hardware is the same... Then flash it to ur device with odin... just google stock firmware for note 10.1 2014 whatever ur build # is + flashing with odin. here is a link www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ to an archive of all stock samsung firmwares, find out ur build No. search it... this should start to lead u in the right direction... If all that I have said sounds like I'm speaking an extra-terrestrial language, find someone who can help u that understands it lol...

I've done all the rooting in accordance with your video, but I cannot see su and also cannot run any root app neither titanium nor gmd gesture control. nothing. apparently knox lock all that. i flashed autoroot again, but nothing helps. i stuck."the device has been changed" but the root is not there. any ideas?

I have the same problem. No body said to turn on debugging either which I found somewhere else. Still wont root though. Got the Note on 12/8. Has there been a change that wont let it root this way anymore? I dont have SU either and most of the root check programs dont work. They just freeze. One of them said I was not rooted.

Steve Long I tried it on another computer several times also and still doesn't work. Everything seems to go as shown in the video but Super User is never present and Titanium doesnt work.

Steve Long Got it working. I dont think its because i used a different computer. The video says you have SU installed after root. Not true. After root you can download SU. All of the root checkers lock up unless you have SU installed.

So, that didn't work, but I ended up having to download SuperSU from the Play Store. Apparently that's all that was needed; rooted fine with Android 4.4.2.

Would this still work after the 4.4 update?

I have 4.4.2. I tried rooting several times and had no success when checked with Root Checker. It says that the device does not have proper root access. Maybe I am missing something. Not sure if it made any modifications to my OS. Towelroot said the 'phone' was not supported. Why did it work for you?

the app was/is broken, has nothing to do with root. It was the app itself.

Ok so I flashed the stock, then back to the autoroot, then the stock, then the root again... and root checker, titanium, su says it's not rooted!!! It does SOMETHIN when I tap check for updates, it says my device has been modified. So obviously it does SOMETHING... but it isn't ROOTED. :( Oh, and Odin did say it passed everytime. What am I doing wrong??

So i was finally able to get my device rooted. the tool that worked for me was towelroot. This was recommended to me on one of the blogs. Now that it's root, i installed an app which would allow me to write to the external sd card. Good luck!

No, you do not need to factory reset it. If it says you are rooted, then simply go to the Play Store and download super su
