@@doodishere6176 You can (and could before the patch), you just cause the rocket to explode on you, which doesn't happen if you're falling

@@nevinmyers1245 Ah, what I meant was that that happened before that patch (and I realize the way I worded it was confusing)

So, in summary: 1. Look down at an angle of around 15 to 35 degrees 2. Dash, then shoot out a frozen rocket (do this in a fraction of a second) 3. Unfreeze the rocket 4. Profit Thank you for the tip, Eren!

I'm pretty sure shooting the rocket then dashing works too? Maybe it isn't as fast but I usually go right click->left click->shift->right click as fast as possible without pressing anything simultaneously (tho maybe i do dash before shooting or at the same time sometimes? idk it's a muscle memory thing where I don't consciously think about it most of the time)

Literally doesn’t work

I was confused at first but I realized it works by the rocket "picking you up" after you unfreeze it instead of getting on it while it's frozen

i basically saw the short “guide” that was made before this, and it’s so much easier and more optimized compared to the rocket riding method of having to do more than four inputs in a near instantaneous window. if i didn’t discover this my best wave in cyber grind on violent would be 30 (my current best is 43 only because of rocket riding)

this tutorial is an actual god send… thank you eren, i’ll be reaching new cg highscores in no time now!

Was this inspired by Hakita saying in the Act II commentary stream that he doesn't know how to quick mount a rocket? :P (it's near the start of the 6-2 section if you wanna look)

And he could fix the issue by enabling rocket rides by whiplashing regardless of the angle or the momentum (but I guess that would be too lame).

What are your weapon colors?

Easy way (CMIIW): 1. Right mouse click 2. Left mouse click to fire 3. Jump 4. CTRL to slam 5. Right click again 6. And use WASD to control the rocket Or, if you want to get better at rocket riding, try to do it in the sandbox whilst enabling "Disable weapon cooldown."

It works if you're perfectly still, having momentum will put you far away from the rocket

alr is there a way to easily find this 15-35 degree thingy because i can't for the life of me find it

To start you off: hop into the Cyber Grind with all the necessary cheats and settings that'll make the environment safe for learning. From there, place yourself somewhere in the arena other than its perimeter and look straight ahead. If that isn't something which you do naturally in regular gameplay, the Cyber Grind will really help you in that case; "straight ahead" will typically be at the point where the skybox seems to almost touch the ground. Then, look downwards until your crosshair is placed roughly three-to-six centimetres below where the floor first touches the skybox. Practicing that motion and applying it to muscle memory should hopefully help you determine how "far down" you need to pull you mouse in order to find the right angle!

It's all done within the blue terminal before you hop into the arena!

I'm so confused I can't understand what the dashing is for? Whenever I dash I never catch the rocket

Dashing allows you to cancel any momentum you previously had, whilst setting up the frozen rocket behind you. This is so that, once you unfreeze the rocket, it'll fly beneath you for the automatic mount!

yknow, the player doesnt need to start out with the freeze enabled. An easier way to think of it is: Pull out the rocket launcher, look horizontally in that angle range, fire+freeze+dash at the same time (both mouse buttons and LSHIFT), then unfreeze afterwards.

I’ve noticed that, for most people, the likeliest cause is the angle being shot at. Unfortunately, I can’t say for certain what is actually the case for you, but here’s a tip that could help: When you’re standing around two metres away from a basic enemy, like a Stray, place your crosshair on its head. Now, look at their feet. If you were to then jump in the air and attempt a rocket ride, the angle you’re currently looking at should make things work!
