Hunter jumper/dressage rider and instructor here. I do advanced yoga every day and love to learn human/horse anatomy and body mechanics. This style of teaching is brilliant the way it gets both the rider and horse in perfect sync so harmoniously. I teach very similarly to you and it’s funny because many times when watching your videos and you’re going into alignment and technical corrections, I find that I had just said that to a couple of students not knowing if it’s correct information. It felt and sounded right in my head and it worked, but I wasn’t sure if what I was saying was correct. Listening and watching you teach and hearing you say the same things I’ve said, confirms it for me that it makes sense and I’m not giving false information to students. From watching different trainers teach with many different methods, I can say this method of teaching body awareness and understanding the movement makes riding so much more enjoyable and rewarding. Hopefully I will have the knowledge you have one day, but my dream is to get myself and my riders to Grand Prix level one day. (If that’s what they want of course.) I would love to have a lesson with you one day. Thank you for putting these videos out.

You know, too, just know more confidently what you know and trust what you can locate in your own riding body. I bet you're a fantastic teacher. He's fantastic and I hope he finds the time and will to share more videos here.

Yes nice not to see pulling but she should already know about the essential element in dressage, which is connection and the flow of energy from back to front. It’s just a concept at this point but never to be discarded as it is so often ignored. Maybe can’t be taught but can be learned.

Ask her to hold on to the pommel with her outside hand and pull herself down into the saddle for a few strides and repeat. And put her and others on the lunge line. We seem to skip that part in America. Learn to SIT first. 😊
