    As someone who rode for over 10 years and is gonna be getting back into it after a few year hiatus i'll add this tip that I noticed went unmentioned in your video. Once you lock into your trick whether it be on a rail or a box, look at the end of the feature. This will help you focus on getting all the way to the end of it and you'll find it easier, with practice, to keep your balance to the end of the feature as well. If you are looking down at what's under you it's like looking down over a steep ledge, it's easier to lose your balance and it'll make you feel unsettled. Look for the end of the feature and use your sense of feel to help maintain your balance, practice makes perfect so keep repeating it over, and over, and over.

    Solid vid guys. Tip to help improve your videos even further from one freestyle coach to (I assume?) another? Maybe go into a bit more detail on how you do what you're advising. You talk about using your heels and toes to help adjust on a rail, but don't say what to do with your heels and toes. To us it's obvious but to people watching the video for its intended purpose it won't be so obvious. Keep it up!:)

    @@Julia-jz1fy pretty unlikely. The worst I've done while boardsliding a kinked handrail I came off the opposite side and ran into the vertical support bar of the rail on the other side with my toe edge. It broke my edge n left a big dent where I hit the rail. To crack you're board in half on a board or lipslide though (if that's what you mean) would be really really difficult)

    what about sticky rails? Is there a good way to account for that when you first hit it?

  • @chaseheyman7426

    @chaseheyman7426

    2 жыл бұрын

    Sticky rails can be annoying. A good way to account for that would be practice hitting the rail straight on (50-50) so you get a feel for the stickiness. Also you can rub some snow across the rails to make it less sticky.

    Does the speed change when you jump on or is it consistent with the speed that you have when you engage?

  • @chaseheyman7426

    @chaseheyman7426

    If you jump on you will probably gain speed. However, some rails can be icier then others and depending on the conditions you might slow down or speed up. If you follows these tips though and dont get scared about the faster speed you will be fine jumping and gain confidence as time goes on

    My biggest head game fear is catching an edge on a box or feature, so I’ve never tried turning, just keeping as flat as possible. How likely is it to catch and fall on these things?

  • @ez_breezy7406

    @ez_breezy7406

    Жыл бұрын

    Pretty likely if you shift your weight to the way you are sliding. I’ve heard of a lot of park riders “detuning” their boards. Basically they round out their edge on both sides of the board by filing it down so that the edge isn’t as sharp and is much less likely to dig into the features. Haven’t tried it yet personally but seems really smart if you’re mainly hitting park.
