Thanks a lot! I converted my ZX-14 into a Trike about 2 years ago. While I had rode a Spyder when they first came out, my conversion was an entirely different experience. Much appreciated!

Hey you are welcome. I fine those who have ridden for many years are sometimes the ones who struggle the most. This is just my way of helping ease the transition. I am surprised nobody else had ever done a video to help new riders of trikes before.

I tried to test ride a Harley trike and I hated it because I had no experience with a trike. All I've ridden for over 24 years has been traditional Harley's going from a 1200 Sportster, to a Super Glide, Fat Bob, Heritage Classic, and now a Road King, but due to injuries I sustained in a bad auto wreck, my left hip is giving me a lot of trouble now with bearing the weight of the bike. Thanks for this video because you are correct that there are no videos online that explain trikes to those of us who are interested, but have never ridden anything like them.

I own and ride a 98 Honda trike. It’s so easy to learn and ride. Relaxing in curves is so important.

It took me a few rides to get used to it. Now that I have a more miles on it I love it. It's really easy to ride and I am very happy to have it.

I had a canam for(4)years and a Triglide for 3 years.I rode the tail of the dragon and other curvy mountain rides on both.I found it was easy to sit upright on city curves and some wide mountain curves but the centrifugal force in the sharp curves was easier if I leaned my body into the curve.I also found the centrifugal force was much more with the CanAm.I had no problem leaning and seeing the road ahead. That’s just me putting all I could into the Dragon with teeth gritted and grunts.

I'm thinking of converting my bike to a trike but with two wheels at the rear. Is there any difference in the handling of that type v two wheels at the front? I know that when a car goes into a curve, the weight shifts to the outside front wheel but a two-at-the-rear trike doesn't have an outside front wheel so how prone to tipping over are they? Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated.

In general the riding technic is the same however a rear wheel trike is not designed around steering so it will be non-linier meaning the steering will be a bit inconsistent based on speed and degree of cornering. On a wheels front conversion or Spyder stability will be better especially during hard braking and down hill due to weight transfer. The ride on a RT conversion is much better as there will be 3 automotive radials running low pressure which will result in a cushy ride. A wheels back has that stiff narrow MC tire up front and if you install a trail (not rake) kit the tube angle is increased which also makes the ride much harsher. A wheels front is also more sporty as handling is just better and in general riding on unpaved roads is not only fun but the trike does not get near as dusty due to better air flow. I hope this helps a bit

@@endeavortrikes After like 20 years and lot of miles on a normal GL1500 trike and since 7 years on a GL1800 RT (But a lot less miles since I no longer use it daily to drive to work) I prefer the RT but I have no problems using both. The RT is a bit more "seeking" on the highway, but I just let it do his thing. The former owner had problems with that and added a steering damper. I removed it, it drives much nicer without one if you let the trike do his very little thing) My RT is wider so one of the wheels often follows a track in the road. The RT is nicer in corners, I have the , maybe wrong, feeling it will break out if I corner to fast. I can let it break out if I want in tight corners but never tried if it will break out at high speeds. On the normal trike I was afraid it would tip over or that the front broke out. That never happened but I am not an aggressive rider. I dare to corner faster on the RT for that, maybe wrong, reason. But before I switched to trikes I drove many years only sidecars (my last one was a GTS 1000 + Side bike megacomete) as my main transport. A trike is a very friendly thing compared to most sidecars but I think some sidecar training does help to convert to a trike more easy.

These people you see making "first time rides" on other non-leaning trikes (especially Reverse Trikes)...They always say they "Looks like a Snowmobile" and then say "They feel like they are gonna fly off" - I have even heard them say "lean the other way" (I STILL DON'T GET THAT?) - They *OBVIOUSLY* have never ridden a snowmobile, because as someone who grew up on 3 & 4 wheel ATVs / Sleds and NOT motorcycles (Though I do own an 175 enduro) - I have ridden "Reverse Trikes" and NEVER felt that I was going to be thrown off...and I always lean inside of the turn, keeps the inside Tire/Ski planted! - When Minnesota actually GOT snow...we would put 1000's of miles on our machines over rough terrain and never "Fly-Off" - I don't get it....
