I've taken a MSF course at Harley Davidson but I still love watching these videos just to learn and of course cause it's CycleCruza!!!! Can't wait for the counter steer video!! I do wish there would of been a dual camera setup...one focused on hands(can barely see you shift and blip) and one on the clutch. I only passed my cbt two weeks ago but yes next time I go out I will be the boss I definitely know what you mean I've been afraid to go out on busy roads I just need confidence but when you mess gears up and go into neutral or not get revs right it dose knock the confidence. Driving a manual/stickshift car or truck is the best introduction to understanding upshifting/downshifting and clutch control. Once you understand controlling the RPMs and clutch you can apply that knowledge to any manual shifting vehicle, like ATV's motorcycles etc... Great video, this is one of those things that's easy to do but hard to explain.

Thank you very much for part 1 and part 2! As a new rider I wanted to hear and see how riders generally stop when there’s traffic or a red light. I will most likely go for the text part and gradually down shift as I approach the stop then stopping and then downshifting at the stop sign back into first. Thanks buddy such a in depth tutorial!

🏆 I'm proud of myself. I rode my honda rebel for the FIRST time since the course in December of 2016. I didn't remember a Damn thing from that class but I watched another YT video that helped me. Thanks to Cruza there was things like the engine whining (signs to shift) that wasn't explained in the other video and why the bike stalled from not being in 1st at the stop. Those were the only 2 things I had trouble with. I am so friggin surprised I shifted without issue since I never drove a stick or let go of the clutch in class--or shifted!! Lol... Cruza YOU ARE THE MAN! This helps so much. You are right about confidence. I remember you said that in a previous video so that was in mind yesterday! I can't wait for your next video!

Awesome instructional videos CC... You Da Man! Regarding braking 'Percentage' Eg. 70% front / 30% rear... It's not 70/30% amount of brake 'Application', it's that the front brake handles about 70% of the 'braking Force'. Conversely, the rear brake handles about 30% of braking force (It's the same in a car). No matter how hard you pull on the brake lever, your front brake provides you with 70% of stopping ability, and 30% for the rear.

you forgot to mention not to get too heavy on the rear brake, because they lock up very easily and can cause a low side.

When you slide w/o the top whipping from rear to front like an upside down pendulum but a baseball slide

Rear brake would cause you to high side if it skids and you let go. Front brake causes you to lowside if it skids, but you can safely pump the front brake.

The idea is never to be at the absolute limit. All you need to do is let off earlier and brake hard earlier.
