ABOUT THIS COURSE
The half halt is one of the first requests the young horse needs to learn to understand because it is a rebalancing aid. Therefore it should be applied often, for example for all transitions and turns to alert the horse that a new request is coming.
Riders often think about the rein aid first, but it really is a well-timed combination of weight, leg, and rein aids, in that order. This course discusses the intricacies of this important communication tool that will help you gymnastisize your horse better.

An authoritative trio of trainers, Ingrid Klimke, Dr. Britta Schöffmann, and Reinhart Koblitz, have teamed up to shine light on the half halt from a riding and training perspective. Slow-motion sequences illustrate the exact aids and biomechanics of the half halt. When the horse stays through and steps further under his center of gravity, you have laid the foundation for a square halt as well. Learn how to use your seat and position with maximum effectiveness and what to do if your horse doesn't accept your aids.
In this course you learn:
➡️ How to use your seat when riding half halts and halts
➡️ Combination and order of the aids
➡️ Keeping the horse soft and through in transitions
➡️ Developing body awareness and the feeling for timing
