    Heyy, I wouldn’t recommend buying all the books the argument comes from because a lot of these arguments are already online and are covered in the textbook. You can buy the book if you’re just interested in the philosopher.

    Hi I have ucas exams coming up after half term, and I have found some of your videos very useful so thank you. However I was just wondering how you revised for paper 2, because my school does Judaism and I can’t find any revision guides with the Aqa exam board for Judaism.

  • @abs.tract_

    @abs.tract_

    3 жыл бұрын

    Heyy, I’m glad they’ve been helpful! I did Islam and like Judaism, there isn’t much out there. I would say use the AQA teaching guide (for teachers) to see specially what you should be learning and look at other non AQA textbooks available that cover the topic and tailor it to what the examiners say you need to know in the spec and teaching guide. Sometimes typing some topics on Google gives you so much options just ensure it’s tailored.

  • @jameshale9901

    Thank you for this advice. My revision guide for paper 1 has just come and it seems a really effective, condensed and digestible version of the textbook. I also really like the exam questions at the end of each sub topic. I was just wondering if there is any mark scheme online attached with Aqa for all of the questions, or whether I would just have ask my teacher to mark them which would be a big ask if I had done a lot of questions😂! Thank you

    Would you recommend buying revision notes and essay plans from other people and then editing them to make them more suited to me?

  • @abs.tract_

    @abs.tract_

    3 жыл бұрын

    Heyy, it’s really dependent on you and how you learn. I have bought revision material in the past as no textbook existed for a specific topic and it was really useful and saved me a lot of time. However generally for all other topics I didn’t because I find it easier to learn and make revision notes for myself and personalise them. If you can learn from the notes of others, then it’s useful and you can always add your style to theirs too. For essay structure, I would definitely recommend as some students prefer learning around structure rather than creating theirs. As always with learning and buying revision material take what’s important and find the best way it can work for YOU 😊

    Hey, does Philosophy A Level make you doubt God? Since I’m a religious person

  • @abs.tract_

    @abs.tract_

    3 жыл бұрын

    Heyy, this is a great question to ask. Personally for me, it reaffirmed my belief in God. Philosophy and some philosophers definitely do question the existence of God and I personally enjoyed this because it takes you beyond what you may already know, it allows you to learn why others have certain viewpoints and most importantly allows you to reach a personal conclusion for yourself. Also some areas of philosophy doesn’t always try to dispute the existence of God. Sometimes the argument can be about what way best describes God as we see in religious language , what can we say or can’t we say about God, who has a better explanation of God as shown by the ontological argument. There is a lot of interesting topics and very thought provoking ones too.

    Any tips on how to get better at essays?

  • @abs.tract_

    @abs.tract_

    3 жыл бұрын

    Heyy, the best way to get better at essays is planning them and actually writing them even if they may not be the best initially. Even if you haven’t figured out your style yet, attempt to write them in timed conditions and get them marked too. After this, start to develop your own personal style. You can also look at essays that are graded higher than yours and just see what is done different to what you’re doing eg. are they evaluating more. I have a video on my essay structure here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4F3tbOAnLO2qZM.html Also, checkout this in-depth video on essay structure for application questions: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e2qF1qNpotbHnqQ.html

    Heyy, this is dependent on what type of person/ learner you are. I did Chemistry GCSE with RS too and I loved and did well in both. However, at AS level I did chemistry and I found it challenging but RS was easier. Chemistry is not as content dense and RS and you’re often working with formulas and RS requires a lot of time. You can do both and do well or pick either depending on what you see yourself enjoying long term. Just know both will require a lot of dedication for success. Hope this helps
