+World Driving Hi, I recently moved to England from the U.S. While I am a great parallel parker back home, I am horrible at it here. First, I'm used to driving on the other side of the road. More importantly, however, the road I live on is very narrow and cars are parked on both sides, which makes it incredibly difficult for me to reverse park in a tight space. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions? I watch with envy when my neighbors do it in one scope, where it literally can take me up to 15-20 tries. So embarrassing. :)

I watched this an hour to my test and awwww I got it in my test and I nailed it. It has been one of my difficult manoeuvre but with the help of this video it was easy this morning. I just passed my test this morning. Thank you for your videos it really helped me as I was using it and practising in my own car.

Passed my test almost 2 years ago and have barely driven. It's the only manoeuvre I'm not confident with. Doesn't help that I'm driving a different car to the one that I learned and passed my test in!

Nice and clear. I wish I'd had this 40 years ago when I learnt to drive, but on the other hand parallel parking wasn't on the test in those days! Our compulsory elements were reverse around a corner, turn in the road using forward and reverse gears (ie 3 point turn--although you could have as many 'points' as needed), hill start (we had to do it on a railway bridge as we didn't have any hills) and emergency stop (which I didn't need to do as I had successfully demonstrated it by avoiding a suicidal cyclist early in the test). Parking was something you just figured out by yourself (or asked your dad who could always do it perfectly) after passing the test. I still find myself sometimes heading too sharply towards the kerb or stranded too far away but especially at night when I can't see the kerb in the mirror. It probably doesn't help that I am also squeezing into spaces little longer than my car! I don't think I've ever seen a gap two car lengths long that didn't have yellow lines in it!

Got my driving test on the 14 th dec 2017 and I am crapping it but these videos are great , I'm 45 so been putting it off for years but now I am determined to pass , thanks for the great videos !

I had my test today and this was the manoeuvre I was given to do, thanks to help from my driving instructor of course, but also the help of these videos, I managed to pass! I watched all your test tips videos several times before my test and I think they helped calm me for my test.

its difficult when your a new driver and trying to parallel park in a tight parking space and every one starts honking you. you feel really nervous then.

yeh, mate i get this all the time. Just fuck them and concentrate. People are stupid Be the patient driver and YOU MUST IGNORE THEM AND ACCEPT THE HUMILATION

Passed with 3 minors a week ago today, first time- big thanks to your KZread as really helped me out big time! Will be getting my partner to watch now she’s starting to drive too 👍🏼

so for everyone watching this i took my driving test monday and passed! yay. i watched so many videos to get it right because sometimes i turn too much being too far from the curb or turn not enough and would hit the curb. but this video pretty much explains how it really is done. just making sure when your turning point is parallel parking is what to focus on and golden. ugh. having my license feels great. sort of. now its time for bills haha.

Have to admit this is my favorite maneuver, My instructor taught me this way and he calls it Lovely Red Roses easy way to remember the way to steer it. Don't think i've ever made a mistake while learning this one.

+Liv Wood Hey. He told me to remember Lovely Red Roses. It's to tell me Left turn, Right turn then Right turn again. I found it extrememly easy to remember x

Had always struggled with manoeuvres throughout learning to drive so turned to your videos for help. I had my driving test on Wednesday and got the parallel park before watching your videos I would've dreaded getting it but I did with no problem, almost perfectly even when under pressure! I passed with ZERO minors as well!! Thanks so much!!

This video helped me pass my driving test yesterday , on how to parallel park and fix it if something goes wrong luckily I found your video at the last minute , anyway my teacher in 🇨🇾 didn’t teach me on how to fix it if something goes wrong she would just adjust the mirror and try it again . This channel is useful for parking skills considering I passed my test 3 and a half years ago. I tend to struggle with parallel parking but I'm getting better. I nearly always reverse into a space if possible

thanks man! i have my test in a week and parallel parking as been doing my head in. I can never seem to do it consistently. My instructor told me to look for a reference point on the wheel arch but i seem to keep missing it so i'm going to try your way instead on my next lesson! can't wait to try it this is the only thing i'm worried about screwing up on my test!

Parallel parking was my manoeuvre as well and I PASSED!! Without this video 100% would have failed!

You have a great tone to your voice when you explain this stuff, because you keep it calm. I had a mini nightmare last week attempting this move ! HaHa I couldn't believe how difficult I found it ! Gonna have Another try in tmrw's lesson after watching this, but my instructor's car is an AlfaRomeo. Slightly different. But I think this upload IS helpful. (I have just watched it about 6 times anyway, so hopefully I'll Nail it..)

Could you do a video on how to parallel park in extremely tight spaces? For example one car length. It's very rare in a London that you find as bigger gap as what your taught on lessons. 😊 Thank you

Get the side of your car much close to the car you are parking behind, and rather than reversing when the B pillar is in line with the car do it when the bumpers are in line that will bring you in much tighter than in this video. If needs be go lock to lock with the steering or go forwards if you run out of space. just be careful not to the steer the front back to the kerb too early or you can scrape the car in front.

Thank You to post this video. It is really helping. My new instructor keeps teaching me parallel parking but I cannot do it because my previous instructor teachs me other methods. I get so confused.

I have always hated parallel parking but guess what my instructor didn’t give me on me. He made me watch this video. We practiced and practiced as it was my weakness even on my test day! I told him it wouldn’t come on my test but guess what?! That’s exactly what the examiner told me to do!! 😂. I did it without any minor fault at a go!!! I passed my test with 3 minors!!! Hi! Happy to help. There are other methods to get good results with parallel parking but this seems to be one of the better ones. Judging rather than relying on methods is even better though and don't forget those all important observations!

I have had my licence for 35 years and I still cant parallel park BUT I have just booked a few lessons with an instructor.Get it sorted!

Depends on the size of your car but roughly at that point should be ok 🙂
