How to Reupholster a Bike Seat - Upholstery for beginers

This time I want to share some steps and tricks I have followed to reupholster a bike seat with the same design. For this purpose I have used automotive vinyl in black and purple.
I have used the old cover to make the templates to mark and cut the vinyl material. As shown the half side is the same measure for the other half side. I really do not trust old seat covers, because most of them are stretched and distorted. I would rather make new templates in cardstock or cheap vinyl.
Short stitches 3 mm long with white thread size 92 were used for top stitching. A 110=18 needle size is advisable for this thread size.
One of the tricks that helps a lot to make the double stitches is the use of yellow glue to fold the seam lips to the sides. It is advisable to let the glue thoroughly dry, otherwise the needle thread could get stuck.
I hope you find some inspiration in this video to make your own upholstery projects!
Cesar

YES! I've been watching your vids for a while now for this exact reason. So far, I've reupholstered the saddles on three bikes...and all three were STOLEN almost immediately thereafter. True story.

And so that when it comes to putting the leather cover on the back of the car so that the leather is more manageable and softer, it can be heated and thus it fits better thank you

Good morning, very good morning. Great videos. I'm learning a lot. I would like to know if in leather upholstery it is necessary to reduce the leather to sew it, especially in covers and cushions thank you very much for your videos a greeting from Spain

Sometimes it is necessary to skive the leather to give a nice look. Leather is skived for car dashboards, consoles, door panels, etc. Other particular items such as wallets, bags, et. In the case of car/motorcycle covers it is not advisable because the seams weaken.

Hi, glad to see you find these videos useful. I used to mark with sharpened waxed pencils and still do. Shoemakers here in Mexico use a lot of silver leather marking pen refills. I find it useful on dark materials like vinyl or leather. www.amazon.in/Holsten-Leather-Silver-Marking-Pens/dp/B0859G9Y62 Here is a playlist with most items we did, we have also done some handmade pressert feets, sewing machine attachments and seat modifications but thats another category. ✅ kzread.info/head/PLoSIdv1C9uyR1y7hk6NSJ7p-gg0573C1K&si=6iGcUynElF0_XUhS Welcome the chanel anytime
