One of the best Gimp photography tutorials I've ever seen. Not only well shown and illustrated how to do something, but also why. It would be great if you could do a larger series on portrait editing in Gimp. It would also be great to see a "dramatic/contrast" B&W editing.

Thank you very much for the kind compliments and supporting my KZread channel! I'm glad that you found value in the video I made. Thanks for the suggestion on editing in GIMP as a series I do plan to put out more videos on GIMP so look forward to those. And I do have an image that would be perfect for a B+W edit.

It's great that you made this video for GIMP. Everyone isn't using Creative Cloud/Photoshop. Clear video, you definitely don't want that fake look when doing skin retouching.

Great Video! How do you find this compares to photoshop for frequency seperation? Also have you used wavelet decompose? Thoughts? Thanks✌️

I prefer photoshop just because of the flexibility but within GIMP I would say wavelet decompose is the best option for great results!

A little tip: the filter "Wavelet decompose" does exactly that, replacing the initial blur filter and layers operations, and you have even more control.

Hi, new to your channel! Love your content. I work in Lightroom and was wondering if I followed your tips in this video how I would go about bringing it back into Lightroom? I started with a raw file and saved as tiff to bring into gimp and now trying to go back to Lightroom without quality loss. I would love to use both programs together.Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks✌️
