How To Restart An Oil Furnace | Hard Lockout and Bleeding Fuel Lines

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

All My Favorite Tools: www.amazon.com/shop/everydayhomerepairs
Usually, this happens at the worst time but the fix can be as easy as restarting the controller and bleeding air out of the fuel lines. I will walk you through a restart at one of my rental properties where we ran the tank dry and as a result, the controller went into a "Hard Lockout" state which needed to be reset as indicated by the flashing green status light.

Thank you for your help! It's been years so I didn't remember all the details. I used the 3/8 wrench, a washed/dry dunkin donuts straw and a 2 liter empty soda bottle on the bleeder so I could rest it on the ground while it caught the excess oil, then I could focus on closing the valve once the air was out, then poured the extra back in the tank. It started right back up!

This is so weird. Back from 2012-2017 my family owned and ran a handyman service named Everyday Home Repairs. My dad, along with me and my younger brother, did the handyman work, while my mom stayed home with my baby brother and answered calls. (Well, my brother and I were a bit young to be much of a help, so we mostly handed tools and cleaned up) Imagine my surprise when KZread recommends me a handyman channel of the same name.

Or is the fuel pump bad ? Thanks in advance

My red interupted ignition oil primary control had a flashing red light/button. I pushed the button in and got two green lights (pump prime/flame) and then it fired up. 15-20 seconds later it made sputtering sound so i opened up the little pilot door tonsee if it still had flames firing and it made an awful sound and extinguished, shooting soot and black smoke everywhere. Guess i needed to do this fuel drain cycle thing you do here? Or was the issue i didnt hold that button for 45 sec, i just pressed it in real quick. Not big on DIY stuff involving fire and smoke erupting when and where you sont want it to if ya do something wrong haha, prob pay someone else at this point
