Thanks for this video, man. I just did the first oil change myself on my 2021 jeep renegade today at 6773 miles because I was getting the alert since about last week. I was going to ignore it and wait for 10,000 miles because that's when the manual said to change it, but I decided to go ahead and do it since the car was calling for it. I thought the alert would automatically go away after I changed the oil, but it didn't. I plugged in my cheap obd reader, trying to see if I could use it to reset something to get rid of the alert, but I couldn't find anything helpful there at all. I haven't driven the car since I changed the oil today, and it's now 11:43 pm, and I'm lying in bed. I not long ago searched on KZread for ways to reset the computer on my car after charging the oil, and your video came up. As soon as I get up in the morning, I'll reset it with the method you showed in this video. Thanks again.

I no longer have the Renegade. The only option I can imagine would be just to follow the normal reset steps.

Some of these vehicles make you do so many steps to do a simple reset! Just make it simple, right?

Did not work for me. It says «no stored messages» at first when I start the car without actually starting it, then I press the gas pedal 3 times, then start it properly, and the oil alert is still there. Have no idea how to fix mine, been annoying me for months.

I have a CRV, that has that, i really wish it didn't, i know when i need to change the oil, i'm not a moron. And to delete it is a pain in my rear, you have to click this, than that, then this other thing, then if you take over 5 seconds, it won't work repeat, etc....UGH !!!

I just got my oil changed not long ago, and then this alert just popped up. I assume it its an alert malfunction, and I just need to perform this reset? No way im changing my oil so soon.

Sounds like you are right. Probably a malfunction.

Make sure you hit THE GAS pedal and not the brake😭😭❗️ or or won’t work.

doesn't work on 2017 trailhawk 4X4 EDIT: it does,but there's a HUGE difference to me between tapping my gas pedal and pushing it TO.THE.FLOOR. Every blog&guide out there said this was supposed to work & I tried everything... until I read one that finally delineated the difference&said "fully depress the gas pedal all the way to the floor!" O had done every other kind of tapping & pumping on this blasted pedal and not a single try worked....devil is in the details!
