This works for a 2018, the 2017 ford escape doesn’t have this option In a 2017 ford escape turn the car to the “on” position (push to start push the button without the brake) (key turn to on position) After the car is on (not started) push in the brake and gas at the same time and hold until the car gives the message “reset complete” when you first start it will tell you “oil reset in progress”

For those without the menu item to reset the oil, but have a push-button start, hit the start button without pressing the brakes. The control system will come on but the engine will not start. Then press the gas and brake together and hold until the message "reset complete" appears.

This does not work for a 2016. You have to hold the brake and gas down at the same time and turn the key on but not start the vehicle. Vehicle isn't even an option on the menu for me.

Some you have to turn key on, then hold gas and brake down. It will display oil reset in progress on the dash

When I get to settings, hit OK and scroll down, THERE IS NO....'VEHICLE' option, and thusly no, ' OIL LIFE RESET option.. I tried this many times on my keyless, 2016 escape, with ignition both on and off.

@@Network126 I have a 2016 Escape Titanium, which is keyless and HAS NO keyhole on the steering column, which is why the gas/brake pedal reset doesn't work.

I have a 2017 and this did not work for me for some reason. However I did the hold the break and gas down at the same time and turn the key until the dash reads reset complete! Do not turn the key all the way!

Never did a reply before so I put in the wrong place. Try again. If you hold brake and gas and press start/stop vehicle will start. With 1st push of button step on gas pedal first then step on brake pedal. Reset will occur after a few.

EXACTLY! I followed the instuctions and hit SETTINGS, but when you scroll down, there IS NO 'Vehicle' option. All I seem to get is 'My Key', over and over as options.

The procedure is different. Watch other videos for the correct procedure.

Didn't work. My '17 doesn't have the same options under Compass, Lighting, Wipers.

It’s not the same for a 17

“Pretty simple” except that for a 2017, it’s wrong. There is no “reset oil life” under “vehicle” on the 2017.

Turn the key on but do not start the engine. Press the brake pedal and gas pedal down at the same time. Watch the dash - it will read “oil reset in progress”. Hold it about 20 seconds until it tells you “reset complete “.

Doesn't work on 2016 keyless models, either. There IS NO 'Vehicle' option under, Settings!

Ford Escape 19 absolutely the worst vehicle nightmare I ever had they covered the repairs just barely engine problems transmission problems over and over again don't walk away run away from that car
