HOW TO RESET CALIBRATE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ON DODGE, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON
In this video we will explain how to reset the steering angle sensor on Dodge. The procedure is also know as how to calibrate the steering angle sensor (SAS) on Dodge. Modern Dodge cars and trucks come with steering angle sensor that detects the angle of the steering wheel and it uses it for the abs / traction control, rear view mirror, self parking and more. If you replaced front end parts, rear end parts, had alignment, installed new sensor and other cases you will need to reset the steering angle sensor on your Dodge or you may get traction control light on.

Just because the light is off when you start the car doesn't mean it's fixed. The light will stay off until you move the car at least 100' or so. It then rechecks centering of the steering wheel. If it's not right, it will come back on.

Great info. On my 2017 Ram 2500: I recently replaced part of my intermediate steering shaft. Broke and replaced clock spring in the process. After replacing clock spring my wheel alignment (on my back up camera was off) AND my TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT was on. This video sent me in the right direction. Un-bolted shaft interior at fire-wall, corrected alignment according to back up camera. Initially, I thought I needed guy at work to clear code with scan tool, but while in route to work, it cleared/corrected itself. No scan tool / computer needed.

thanks for the vid. I replaced the clockspring but was still getting lights. I hooked up the scanner (didn't even know it had angle sensor check). With wheels and steering wheel pointing straight ahead I was reading 360 degrees. Somehow got the thing on turn off. I pulled the wheel back and turned it (with the clockspring) one full turn. Installed steering wheel and now lights are off. For some reason the horn doesn't work now and the air bag light is still on(it was on before). But the other two lights are now off! Baby steps.

U probably broke the clock spring now, u need to keep the clock spring always at the centre, for example if ur clock spring has 5 turns in total, it will turn 2.5 turn to left and 2.5 turn to the right so completely rotate it to one side and then count 2.5 rounds, it will be your centre. Now if u somehow do this wrong and your clock spring isnt at the centre, when you will move your steering wheel, it will probably break the clock spring (clock spring controls airbag, horn, cruise control, media control buttons). As far as your angle sensor is concerned, when you first replace the clock spring you probably just rotated the clock spring, as angle sensor is usually pulled off from the old one and put on the new one. It would be calibrated to the old one which according to you had 360 degree turn which means 1 whole turn of clock spring or steering, so only thing you had to do was just reset it, reset it through the device or just recalibrate it according to this light, it would have made the angle to be 0 degree again. And everyt would have worked then. Angle sensor it self can not move, it always fits at the same area of clock spring, so if your clock spring is in centre then so is your angle sensor, only thing it needs is a reset or recalibration to tell it that everything is fine, wheels are straight and steering is straight so that it can be satisfied. Wrote alot, i hope it would help if not you then someone who sees it in future. :)

That's an Autel. If you get the Autel ts608 it has tpms, diagnosis, and service all in one. You can find em for around 580. The specific one he is using I'm not sure. I think it's in the description. EDIT: Autel Maxisys Pro MK908P is the scanner he is using, costs a pretty penny also.
