Really enjoyed her clear command voice. Perfect loudness & projection. Sometimes cadets want to holler & race through the reporting statement. My only comment is on her backward movement. AF Drill & Ceremonies does not mention a rearward march. Cadets out there make sure you look in the regs before copying this except in exhibition drill. Otherwise congrats!

Thanks for the excellent observation. Ava was a High School Senior at the time and I was Fresh off the line as a Military Training Instructor; I taught her that transitory drill for showmanship in the competition. Fortunately, it payed off and they took first place. Ava is now a Senior at Norwich University and will commission soon into the USN. My feedback for her after watching this again is not to bend her knee during her stationary drill movement (about face). Drives the old MTI in me crazy. 😂 Thanks for commenting 🎉

Thanks for the comment. I was fresh from being a Military Training Instructor the time and trained Ava (my daughter) to perform those movements. Marching backwards is an advanced movement normally used by Instructors during Basic Military Training graduations when (we) would give commands from the front of a transitory formation. Luckily it paid off and they took first place. It was simply showmanship.
