    God bless you for making this 5 minutes long and not including a funny anecdote about fuel filters or 3 min footage of you wrestling with a clip. Please make more and more how-to’s for the NB!

    Indeed, I am sure there is a formal schedule for how frequently these should be changed, for me I tend to do it 'every few years'.

    Good to see you again. In preparing to do this I started the engine and pulled the fuse for the pump which depressurized the circuit and spilt a loss less fuel.

    Thanks for the video. What if I don't open the fuel cap, would it stop fuel to spill?

  • @Bbeavis

    @Bbeavis

    11 ай бұрын

    Yes, possibly, or also possible is that there is pressure buildup in the tank and it rushes the fuel out when the hose is disconnected. I'm not sure which is more likely.

  • @zajxperia3983
    @zajxperia3983 Жыл бұрын

    I got one of those hose clamps (a mechanic left it under the hood xd), how about using those to just stop the fuel in the hoses and avoid spillage?

    You're the first one showing access from the wheel-well and I like that. I'm curious If that metal bracket is malleable enough to bend, remove filter, remove each line one at a time, and immediately attach to new filter to minimize spillage. A finger over the other hole seems easy enough to prevent gas coming out the other way. I appreciate the share. New sub.

  • @Bbeavis

    @Bbeavis

    Thanks Chuck, yeah certainly there would be enough give in the bracket and lines to be able to remove the filter under the car. For the sake of the video it made sense to remove it and take it to the bench. I am sure there are some clever methods to really minimise spillage, it doesn't bother me so much, it isn't high pressure so its only a cupful.

    @chuck889 you can. i did today. just bend the filter bracket open after removing the bolt. hardest part was using a pick/disconnect tool to remove the fuel lines.

    Do you think you have to run a finer micron fuel filter if you’re running e85 or flex fuel?

  • @Bbeavis

    @Bbeavis

    Жыл бұрын

    I cannot see why. It's the same sort of fluid, going through the same fuel lines, injectors and fuel rail.... are you expecting e85 to be 'more dirty' than traditional petrol?

    Sorry, I don't think this is that impressive. I have actually done this with all my dogs starting at 6 months old and I would be upset if he was moving around outside after a stay command. But then again I also have had cops called on my dog before because people think he was injured since he wasn't moving. So 🤷‍♂️...
