is the pilot bearing puller you used here different from a piston engine pilot bearing puller?

It is designed to fit this particular pilot bearing, there are very few “generic” pullers that work. Unfortunately these are expensive and hard to find. I just had good success with a harbor freight one though. Similar style, slide hammer with expanding collets. Comes in a set of 4 and costs about $70.
