Thank you for this! Was very helpful! My exhaust pipe along with my muffler straight up fell off today and I was like WTF! Kinda lame that this is a common problem but I ended up ordering a replacement kit. Ugh the joys of riding scooters 😂

Same problem here that I had with my icebear Hawkeye 150cc scooter I ended up purchasing a replacement exhaust system same model to put back on my scooter tomorrow morning I'll have me a little project to do....😁👍

It has 2 gaskets one at the head and pipe and one at the muffler and pipe connection.

On my scooter the brake assembly is on the same side as the muffler and my muffler or pressing against it causing it to drag. Any suggestions besides using a torch to bend the pipe? I plan to adjust it tomorrow. Wish me luck

The line should be In a sheath made of steel so the muffler pressing shouldn't bother it.

You got off easy. My 49cc taotao broke at the manifold. A bolt (stud nut as you call in the video so you have a reference point) broke right off. Now I have one bolt (stud nut) to mount the muffler onto. The muffler has always hanged and shook which has caused non-stop problems since I bought the bike.

Hey i jus got a 49cc tao tao pony50. both my bolts from my muffler are gone. Do u know what size bolts i need? im thinkn it sud b similar to urs since we have similar scooters

@@nomansland5739 go on ebay and type in 50cc exhaust studs it should come up. Their all universal size.

Why'd you use such a huge muffler dude? That thing is going to rattle and vibrate those bolts right out.

this is the same muffler it came with from the factory never had any bolts get loose except the exhaust stud nuts.

Also would be bad video about the that belt the transmission built to cute. Whatever that does, how often should that be changed?

You have to visually check it. I have videos servicing the cvt.

What kind of grease did you use and also would I be able to get it at an autozone?

I use grease from a tube but I'm sure they have it in a can. Since the bearings are not inside the rotor i don't use high temp grease. Thanks for watching any more questions ask.

Standard red grease from Walmart.

How much was new muffle? Where did you order it from?

Mine broke twice in the exact same place. One stock and one aftermarket. Drives me freaking crazy. What's your best advice on preventing this from happening again? Installing the header first and then the muffler like you did?

Sounded almost as loud with the replacement muffler...

It may but it's definitely not as loud with the muffler.

Because I was just installing the header and muffler attached all at once. Any advice would be appreciated. By the way I'm using the shorty exhaust from eBay. Short Performance Exhaust System For GY6 150cc 4 Stroke Scooters. Item #402299974749. I also bought a really thick performance gasket and one of the Ring gaskets that goes inside the muffler it basically just looks like a ring that you can put on your finger. I'm hoping these will allow for a little more flex and vibration without snapping the cheap ass metal.

Not much you can do except avoid bumpy roads that's what broke my pipe going over a rough street. And you have to check the pipe frequently for rust clean and apply high temp paint.

Any metal on metal connection that flows air, fuel, oil, etc... should have a gasket so its air tight and leak proof.
