lol freaking things are hot garbage when it comes to the shoe department. Let's see how this one holds up. I'll post an update video soon

the same exact thing happened to me! definitely not fun to have happen during a shoot, luckily the fix is pretty easy.

The part you linked to in the caption says it is for the V1S/V860III-S. Does that same part also work on the TT685II-S?

Thank you for watching Nick. It does work on the 685, I tested it and everything works exactly the same (that being said I didn't test ttl cause we never use it in that mode, but in manual it fired and worked perfectly)

Order it and put it on !!!!!

thanks for the video but i wonder, what if i have a sony flash but i want to put a canon hot shoe. can i just replace the shoe to canons shoe and will it work? or you can only change same shoe to the same shoe. i really don't want to buy an adapter or buy a new same flash for canon.

You're very welcome. Thank you for taking the time to watch. That's a great question... I'm not exactly sure if you can change the hotshoe on it like that, but one thing that I was doing for a very long time was using my Nikon mount flashes on my Sony. Since we never use TTL, it was never an issue. The only thing was that the screwing part was just a tad bit different so I had to keep making sure it was tight. I'm curious how the canon shoe matches up with the Sony mount

Hey Marta, this was for the tt685 Sony model and it worked well even though the website didn’t state it for that model. For Nikon I know it has a different/better shoe so google one for Nikon so you get the full metal shoe :)

Hello, can you replace TT685 hotshoe with TT685II hotshoe that have lock switch? :)

Honestly I couldn't imagine why you wouldn't be able to. For instance, the one I ordered was for a V860ii-s but I ordered it seeing that it was compatible. Haven't had any issues with it yet and it has the locking shoe and metal mount. You certainly can 😎 Actually it’s meant for the 860ii but I was able to use it for the 685. If you click on the link on the description it sends you straight to it 🙌

+1 the Godox mount design is "absolute garbage" 👏👏👏👏👏- same thing happened to me and broke the same way/place exactly as yours... it's a manufacturing fault - cover by warranty in AU

Godox hot shoe really bad..i nearly crying when its broke while im shooting wedding event,thnk god im still got backup speedlight in my bag🤦🏻‍♂️

Dude, they're terrible. I know they have an updated one that I just saw on the site. It has the metal mount like the one I replaced with the turning lock instead of the one twist lock...dunno if that makes it better. Luckily they're cheap and easy to fix but I'd rather pay an extra 30-50 if they can just equipt it good from the factory
