How to replace the Fuel Pump Control Module on a 2012 VW Tiguan

Фильм және анимация

I couldn’t find any other videos that showed how to do this, and all the forums I read made it sound like you needed to lower the gas tank (you don’t I figured out.) Hope this helps!

The 6 aluminum pins are heatsink for the transistor stabilizer.

Hi there. I replaced mine with a cheap one from ebay but I still have the check engine light on with the P025C CODE. Knowing that it was hard to push the new one all the way to the end where the original was sitting. Please advise. Thanks

I can’t thank you enough for this! I have a 2018 Audi Q3. I was fighting to get the module out! I watched this and had it out in 2 minutes! The key is the screw driver in the middle and turning it. My car was showing a high pressure pump failure, replaced the pump, then the car stalled again a week later. The mechanic wanted to drop the gas tank to replace this part…. Clearly he would have cost me more money to do this, so after your video, you saved me a few hundred dollars!!!!

Awesome job explaining everything and a big thumbs up for making this video. I scoured the forums trying to find videos or steps on replacing the control module with very little info. As you mentioned, way to many people in the forums telling you to lower the gas tank. Silly! Thanks man!

Hello. why did you replace this module ??? what were the symptoms ??? I have the same Tiguan and it goes out while driving. I have already replaced the spark plug, the high pressure pump and it continues to go out.

Hi thank you so much for your video! What symptoms were u having with your tiguan that made you replace the fuel pump control module? I have a 2013 Tiguan with intermittent starting problems and have tried everything else. Mine engine cranks over fine but just doesnt seem to be getting any fuel. I also scanned it and got a fuel pump relay J17 , open or short to ground Error. Also something about my high pressure fuel rail . Just a bunch of random fuel errors. Also where did you buy your new relay? Theres a lot of cheaper aftermarket relays that look the same but wasnt sure if they would work as good. Thank you for you advise

Did you ever get your problem solved, and figure out what the culprit was? I have a 2012 Tiguan that turns over like a champ but just doesn't want to start. Eventually, it does. But, I'm concerned I'm going to mess up the starter. Also, my cabin smells like fuel when I fill the tank completely up. It's strange... Leaning towards a bad pump/filter, or a fuel line.

They could’ve heat sinks I’m sure it must get hot so it might cool it .. now my question I have a Jetta 08 . Had scanner read . Fuel volume regulator control circuit / open .. now in English this the fuel control module or the the fuel relay ????

what was your issue with the module ? were you getting a engine code ?

  • @TrooperLeary

This module when going bad will throw a code for fuel pump relay circuit open. Idr the vagcom code off the top but these cars don’t have a FP relay. The FP is pulse width modulated by this module. Symptoms include that code and random crank/no start and almost immediately afterwards starts.

Those aluminum 6 spots dont plug into anything-they are just heat exchangers, they help dissipate heat from the module quickly while in operation.
