I actually had to use that video to re-assemble my washing machine door. Fiddly as hell, would rather replace my brakes then do that again. Only when I got to the door re-attachment I noticed the change in football tops. Chin of soccer AM. DIY is meant for you. Thanks for the most helpful vid.

I, err... put my hoodie in the wash with some AA batteries in the pocket (forgot). Panicked and stopped the cycle. Patiently waited for the lock icon to 'do one'. Then, honestly, just tried the door with normal force (no ferocity) and the sod broke. Used string to open the door and get them batteries out and have closed the door to start another cycle. I need clean clothes after all! Anyway, your video has given me the courage to buy a new handle and give it a go myself. Cheers Lloyd 👍

Thanks for the helpful and very funny clip. I had the exact same issue with the door mechanism and followed everything to the T and worked 1st time. I am no handyman. Was a bit of a battle getting the handle in place but once I'd sussed it it went relatively smoothly. Testing door a 2nd time after doing a wash but seems watertight which it wasnt before replacement. May have solved the "mystery" leak as we couldn't work out where the water was coming out of. Love the background music btw!

Thanks for the video dude! The only thing I did different is I didn't take off the whole door, I only unscrewed the handle screws and the four next ones to the top and bottom of the door, this way you're able to separate the plastic panel away slightly and pop the door handle out and the new one back in.

"Voila!" love it Lloyd 👍. I've just replaced the other bit - the interlock. Some of these have retaining screws but others just have plastic pegs. Remove the spring-loaded door seal retaining band carefully. I started at the spring as it was easier to get started without damaging the door seal. Remove the seal from the front lip and push it inside the machine. Now, those lugs 👍 push them in and push the mechanism towards the outer part of the machine (away from the drum). Pull off the electrical connection and (if it has one) the mechanical plastic lever. Swap these to your new mechanism. Then reverse the fitting procedure. Push the mech all the way to the right, then back to the left briefly until those plastic lugs engage 👍. Refit the door seal (a little bit of washing up liquid really helps here) then refit the band.

Love this. Really appreciate every bit of content your able to put out during this craziness. Would love to see more random crap like this.

Im so used to him doing voices i didnt recognise the voices in it till later on....

Just replaced the handle and all seems tight and snug but when I go to do a wash the lock will not engage and so will not start the cycle. Any ideas?

Magical video- if only for bringing in the legend from Wolverhampton May I suggest you do videos of challenging chores in the home. With a shirt and regional accent. Possibly with a reaction (eg the Bournemouth fan repeatedly getting electrocuted and more angry. Poor sod).

@@LloydGriffithComedian that makes no sense at all. I'll buy a new machine, take the working handle off it and then if you post me your broken handle, I can then attach it to my machine ready to replace it with my working handle, thereby saving myself the cost of a new handle!
