For anyone watching this and trying it out: 1. getting the display module out can be tricky. If you phone fell down a few times or if you just had it for long enough you get dust into the gaps and the frame is slightly bent so it takes way more force to push it out. be careful not to break it 2. the ribbon cable can be hard to detach/attach so don't worry when you're struggling

Das Video ist sehr hilfreich, aber in der Realität (habe die neuen Kameras eingebaut) ist das Display deutlich schwerer abzulösen, als es im Video aussieht. Es ist Plastik und ich hatte Angst, dass etwas abbricht. Die Idee ist gut, aber so glatt geht das nicht vonstatten.

Es hilft, wenn man zwischen Rahmen und Display den Schlitz ein bisschen mithilfe einer Kreditkarte o.ä. öffnet. Da sind lauter so kleine Überstände eingerastet ist, die man dann einzeln leichter "ausrasten" kann (vor allem ohne Gewalt).

Just upgraded the 2 cameras of my phone and found the video instruction very helpful. Reconnecting the ribbon cable (2:14) as shown in the instruction didn´t work with my phone though. I managed to put everything together by first reconecting the ribbon cable and ony afterwards putting the screws back in. Another little stuggle I faced was exchanging the selfie camera. Why don´t you show this step in the video?

Thanks for the advise to reconnect the ribbon cable first; I had the same problem and when I did this it worked perfectly!

Yesterday I replaced camera and bottom module. I upgraded to the 48mp camera and I'm so looking forward doing some photos with it. It's already recognizable how much more power this cam gets but this noon I'll be out with the horses and I'll give it a shot. the new bottom module lets me have this feeling like omg my phone is neeew! because the charger cable goes in like 'click', phone vibrates and its all good. Love this phone

Great video. One tiny improvement: When putting everything together, show the locations of the screws again. Also, show the locations for at least 5 seconds to make it easier to stop the video.

How do you remove front and rear camera lenses for maintenance please?

What I would like to know is if I leave all the cameras out of the phone, are the internals still protected with a plastic or glass cover where the camera's should he.

No, that would leave holes in the case. Inside it's also too tight to bend the connectors away (so the camera simply wouldn't be powered). Maybe you can ask FP for the dimensions of the module and where the screws should go. Then you could 3D print a dummy. Some rubber or duct tape on the outside should help to protect the inside.

I upgradet my camera yesterday. Now my phone won't charge anymore. How can that be? What can I do to fix it?

Der letzte Klick beim Kameraeinbau hat bei nur geklappt als ich die Kamera noch einmal herausnahm , dann zuerst die klickverbindung gemacht und anschließend die Kamera erst festgeschraubt habe.

Hey I don't know if you're still hopeful about this, but I live in a country to which Fairphone doesn't deliver. I read up on something called a Parcel Forwarder, basically a service that receives your package in any country (I received mine in the UK), and then ships it to wherever you want. I used one to get my fairphone 3, although I haven't received yet it because I only ordered it a few days ago. Hope this helps.
