For those interested in removing the sub forever, you should know the amplifier for the stereo is in the subwoofer housing. When you remove the subwoofer, the stereo will not work. So be prepared to buy a new amp and figure out a bunch of wiring as well.

The garnish cover at 6:38 does not seem to sit in the socket like how you did . I got a new cover as well but the same issue happens Where the left side fits but right side does not slide in. any help?
Hello. If installing the subwoofer for first time do I need to install a button for the woofer in the cabin OR will the woofer work without a button? My daughter has a 2008 and we are ordering a used subwoofer original to the FJ. Thank you. Great video.

You can buy the pieces from Toyota. Basic stereo does not have the base box.
has anyone put another one on the opposite side?
I have an 08 base FJ looking to buy that oem subwoofer and rear speakers, can I just install them and connect them or do I have to change the base stereo system for it to work?

Yo gotta remove the subwoofer in order to exchange any of the light bulbs on the right side tail light, huh!
