Just a tip here. On my 2006 and 2007 E that first stud way too long to get any available deep socket over it and you cant get enough torque with a ring wrench, so I had to cut some off the stud. No idea why the stud is so long or what was supposed to attach to it anyhow.

Anyone noticed that this mount has virtually no clearance between the engine bracket and the mount base even when new? I think this is THE design flaw that makes Elements so noisy, as the bracket is literally sitting on the mount base, there is a thin rubber coating on the base that soon gets worn off so this mount is useless, the engine might as well be bolted directly to the frame! I came up with two solutions to this. You can grind off the unnecessary little steel pin on the top of the mount, that helps center the bracket and add a few washers, you can gain about 3/16 clearance and still have enough stud to hold the nut. If you want unlimited clearance, simply flip the bracket upside down, all the holes line up the same, but you will have to grind off some of the also pointless heavy lug on the outer end of the bracket to clear the mount rubber and remember to attach the ground wire which will end up under the bracket before fitting it. I have never come across a motor mount designed like this on any other vehicle and would be interested to hear any feedback on this issue as to why Honda designed it this way?
