I’m not a mechanic. But I feel like one now. I just bought a 2002 Silverado extended cab and it needs a radiator and I’m going to do it myself. Thanks guys.

Outstanding video. Clear, detailed and easy to follow. Kudos, sir! I love how just as I was thinking to myself whether the cooler fittings needed thread tape, you answer my question. Nice.
WOW! THIS VIDEO JUST SAVED ME 800 BUCKS! THANKS!
Excellent video! I like your comment "Move On". You should give lessons on how to make excellent instructional videos. No extra commentary, no waiting while watching ALL bolts installed at 1x speed, no extra BS, video is correct angle with good lighting. Excellent!
Best instructional video I have seen. Attention to detail is perfect. Honestly wish more videos were as good as yours. Many many thanks for all of your work putting together this exceptional video.

You said cooler line and transmission line. What runs through them? Does transmission fluid run through the transmission line?
Solid video! I just changed mine out in an hour and it was my first time ever doing it. Thanks for sharing this. It made it simple!
Brother your videos have saved me thousands thank you so much for what you do

Installation went just like the video except I left the upper hose disconnected and added two gallons of Peak Final Charge thru that hose until it backed up into the reservoir,. Then I connected that final hose, started it and added the rest via the reservoir. Thanks 1A Auto!
Thanks again man. Clear and concise as always. Please keep up the great work professor!!!
Bought this radiator, and the transmission lines just pour out. Took them off bought now collier pins. Nothing wasted 4 hrs taking the transmission lines on and off around 30 times. Just buy ac delco. Went to oriellys. Fit perfect no leaks.
Excellent video I wasn't going to do it on my own but now I will with this info. Thanks!
Top notch directions sir!!!
Wish I found your video first. Unbelievable quality after seeing others....thank you.

Very good and thorough vid. Thank you very much!
Good Video. Check the oil line connections before installation. I had 2 leaks after installation unfortunately the lower ones.
Love your video. Very well explained.
Pretty cool video, would have liked to see the baffles to the left abs right of the radiator mentioned and how their attached and make sure they are in right position. Found one of mine strangely tore and out of place tonight.
Wow awesome video, thank you so much for your time.
Excellent video! Thank you.
Professional well presented easy to follow ezpez

Great job , Thank you
very good work
"Nice and snug give that hose a quick tug🎶"😂😂😂
Great video!
Great Video
Great! Thank you!!!
This is insanely easy. I can't believe they charge over a thousand dollars in the shop to do this.
I just replace my radiator on my 2005 silverado replace the over flow tank also. The guy a t autozone told me it should take 4 to 4 1/2 gallons . I poured about almost 3 and let it run a it looks like it good . Does that sound about right on gallon wise I used less then 3 gallons not quite 3 gallons! Thanks
So you don't add transmission fluid? My friend was doing one today and where the transmission hose connect to the radiator there was alot of fluid that came out. We left it like that for now until we can figure it out.
When the radiator is out, do you recommend replacing any other parts even if it’s working?
If you have the factory auxiliary transmission cooler up front do I need to plug the spot on the new radiator?
Muy perron ese video facil y sencillo 👍👍👍👍👍👍💲💲💲💲
Can you use the same radiator for a manual transmission? The cooling holes will just be plugged?
Hey I have a question. I replaced my water pump/ thermostat and my heater core is bypassed. But I'm overheating still. I have a hot hose on bottom and top of the radiator. So I'm assuming everything is working correctly. Is it just a vapor lock I have going on or should I just replace the radiator anyway? I can't think of any other reason why I'm overheating.
After doing it to my 99 5.3 chevy, the temperature will not go past 168. Any tips? (I changed the thermostat as well)
Do those fittings for the tranny lines come with the new radiator?
Where can you find that pin tool you showed??
I did it myself and now I’m watching the video 😂

I do not understand how that flare fitting at 13:05 doesn't leak with that much play. Mine are like that too but I don't get how it doesn't leak
This guy makes it look easier...😑
does that little hose go to the throttle body
I’m so lost rn, I went to look for my drain petcock and there isn’t on in the radiator. I go to autozone get the replacement part and it doesn’t fit? I’m so stuck on what to do
Hmmm. Everything was great I was with him up until putting coolant back in it through the reservoir using the funnel buddy I'm going to have to do a little more research on that and make sure I do it correctly I've never seen that.
how much coolant was lost? how much coolant did it take once everything was bled out and got to a normal level of coolant
I got her done today boy’s 😝🤘🏼🤙🏽

is there a petcock or just bottom hose drain???
My radiator hS hookups on both sides with the lines with the clips. I have no clue what or where I mossedsometmething
Dude kind of sounds like Chris Fix!
Mine was made without the drain valve. I see the spot for it, but just plain plastic. Must have saved a ton of money doing that 🙄
What size radiator is this?
At 13 m 23 s. What hose is that?
Is there tranmission fluid in the radiator? If so, do you need to add any to replace what's removed with the old radiator?
@jimstheblueman

@Logan Marquez he calls them cooler line and transmission line. My biggest concern is what is flowing through the lines if anything is flowing through them? the rubber hoses are the coolant. But what are the cooler and transmission line?
Those spring metal clamps… ugh. Had one pop off and smack one of my fingers that also conveniently had an infected hang nail. Oooweewwwww! Do yourself a favor, use hose clamps!
Is this the same for a 04 Tahoe 2wd 5.3 ??

How do you know when the radiator is bad?
How many gallons of coolant is this going to take on a 6.0 litre?
@travisclark9204

It's a 34 in radiator
Good job my turn
He didn't put the spring clips back on the transmission lines !
How much transmission fluid is lost via the old radiator? This is a step that every video has ignored.

3:11 That's called a Jesus clip, because it will cause you to lose your religion when it springs away and flies across the shop never to be seen again. It's a good idea to get yourself a packet of spare clips before starting the job. And the round plastic retainer that goes over the clip is important to keep that Tr@nn!e (ahem) cooler line from popping out while you drive. I had to replace those rusty cooler lines on mine when they rusted thru and leaked. I hand made new ones from stainless tubing and put the correct GM quick connect flare on the ends with a special tool. I noticed Dorman is making stainless replacement lines for brakes, fuel, etc on some older GM applications so maybe they might be offering these in stainless soon, I don't know, you just have to search online to check. So anyway I have a new replacement radiator for my 2002 Avalanche from GM, and with the GM unit you don't need to worry about saving the rubber mount bushings or the transmission cooler line fittings because all that is included new for you. The transmission cooler fittings have new Jesus clips already installed in them waiting for you to simply push your cooler lines into them, just be sure to keep your plastic retainers on the lines so you can slip them into place over the fittings after the line is connected. What the new GM unit does not have is the drain petcock on the lower LH side. The boss for it is cast into the plastic tank but the boss is not drilled and left solid. I checked with GM and their service bulletins say the petcock is no longer used. That sucks, because the petcock on the old radiator enabled me to drain the coolant neatly into empty gallon jugs for recovery and reuse. It even had its own length of hose that stows in clips on the side of the radiator tank and swings down when needed. If you drain by pulling the lower hose on the RH side then you need a big drain pan to catch it and it will be contaminated with crud as it runs all over the chassis. Also if you need to service a water pump or cylinder heads, with the good old petcock you could drain out the coolant to the desired level without pulling any hoses off the radiator. Curse you, GM.

I'd rather switch for green. Way less corrosive so with proper maintenance your cooling system components will last longer.
Squeeze it, grab it, twist it...pull it off
Bro, do you need the air gun for everything?? Nice video but DANG.. those 10mm for the shroud are barely held on there! Save some p***y for the rest of us

I think the technical term for those clips are “Jesus” clips.
