Bulb won’t budge, jiggling rotating while pulling - sprayed some WD40. Been to Halfords twice….
OMG I've been struggling all morning today. Never thought of pulling the wire instead. I was scared to pull it apart. Are they that sturdy? UPDATE: didn't work for me. It won't come off.

They just get stuck because of the heat so you gotta wiggle it from holder and pull at the same time.
So, do I have to twist or not or does it just pull out?

Hi, if it’s tight then pull and wiggle it, it will free up.
notice you picked the easiest to do, give it a go with a 1.9tdi. Completely different kettle of fish. good luck

Just done this on a 2008 diesel. The offside has the fuel filter, which I pulled out of its holder to give a little more room. Was trying the other side as well and had the battery out. Eventually I built up the confidence to use the wires and hey presto. I think they have improved the design of the headlights in subsequent models. A bulb change should be a 2 minute job.
