Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we help Kenny address the rust repair needed on his Chevy C-10 restoration. We dive into the inner and outer rocker panels and discover just how rusted they've become!

MIG 135 WELDER: www.eastwood.com/mig-welder-1...
PLASMA CUTTER: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-ver...
ANGLE GRINDER: www.eastwood.com/4-5-in-angle...
This video will be one of many centered around teaching Kenny, an Eastwood customer, the fundamentals and techniques needed to tackle a restoration project. It's always been our mission to affordably get tools in the hands of eager DIYers and fabricators of all skill levels, while sharing all the knowledge we can to help ensure a positive experience!
Kenny's 1969 Chevrolet C-10 Truck is a prime example of the various tasks most people tackle during their restoration: shaving fuel filler holes, replacing inner and outer rocker panels, replacing and patching heater box in the firewall, repairing cab corners, custom metal fab and various rust repairs.
We hope you can take away the knowledge and metal fab basics we teach Kenny and apply those techniques to your project at home!

    Thanks for the video. You give me the confidence I need to do it myself. I also like how you guys arent afraid of some rust like most people are. Some people would not think is worth repairing.

    Maybe not the first time, but with a bit of practice you can certainly get there! And the more important thing is preventing further rust/rot down the road which you can ABSOLUTELY improve over the factory.

    You two did a great job removing, and replacing with new metal. I hope you rust proof all of the rusted and new metal.Having all opened up is the time to rust proof. I’am all most finished rust proofing the entire 2005 chevy. 4x4 truck. Now comes removing the drivers side rocker panels. Thanks for this, show and tell video.

    I think it is awesome to replace these panels. I am watching so I can do it myself. Every little tip helps. I just don't understand why put on new panels when there is so much more rust that is seconds away from being just as bad. In just a few years the repairs you did will be the only thing not rusted out.

    Hello , I know You Are Professionals in the field , I finished One Of Those , That Another Body Man Installed The Rocker Panels . And By My Own Experience, I tack And Assemble Everything Before Weld , I use small Sheet metal screws, to hold the panels at 1 inch from each. After I install , the doors and the Front end Complete And Am Sure that Everything Aling. Then I move if is Necesary. If Not I Weld after remove all the Parts , remove the sheet metal screws , fill the holes , grind. That way I don't have the inconvenience that happens Whith that truck previously installed rocker panels. That I have A Hard Time Aligning the Fenders And the Doors.

    @@kCI251 a simple puzzle? That's BS. The replacement panels require extensive modification to even remotely fit plus you need to have access to a good welder and need to have atleast basic understanding of how to properly weld. This is not an easy job to do.

    It’s nice to have things like a plasma cutter. But if this is aimed at DIY’ers, why not do the job with tools that the common home owner would have and use?

  • @eastwoodco

    @eastwoodco

    3 ай бұрын

    We try to spread the love around between simpler inexpensive tools and some of the upgraded stuff like cut off wheel vs plasma cutter - but we want to show you the process and you can make concessions where you see fit. Also if you've ever used a plasma cutter you will not want to switch back anytime soon. And we try and sell them at various price levels to fit every budget. We currently offer 2 under $500 www.eastwood.com/eastwood-versa-cut-40-amp-plasma-cutter.html
