Some advice for those that live outside the rust belt, that plastic skid plate on the front is only held on with (4) or (5) 15mm bolts, the metal skid plate underneath is also held on with (4) 15mm bolts, short in front long in the back for reassembly. Removing these gives you a lot of room to work and can be done in under a minute with a cordless impact. If you do live where they salt the roads I'd not recommend pulling them off simply because you never know how bad the bolts are. You may end up with more of a challenge then working around the plates. I would strongly encourage you to move where cars don't rust though, it's so nice having 20 year old undercarriage bolts turn out with a ratchet! :-) Keep up the incredible videos 1AAuto, they are a huge help!

I live in the rust belt and I take the skid plate off... It's good practice for that left handed drill bit!
7:30 Is there a torque spec for this?
Soooo exactly how and when did you tighten this to torque specs, and which torque did you tighten it to? I'm thinking a torque wrench + crow's foot would be the only way to pull this off...
So what's the torque setting for the Idler nut to the idler arm bracket?
No torque specs?
👍😊👍PERFECT job...PERFECT tutorial, thanx (sub/👍)
Great info!!!
Why wouldn’t you remove the idler while ON the vehicle??? Way easier!
Thanks a lot very helpful video!

Is there an idler arm and bracket on each side of the vehicle or is it on one side only?

+George Lerma Thanks for checking us out! There will only be one idler arm and bracket on the vehicle. Please let us know if you have any further questions, thank you!
Where did you get that 2 jaw puller because my local parts stores have nothing like it?

+dmwillis126 Thanks for watching! You can typically find them at most auto parts stores. We do not carry that tool at this time.
Is this the same process for a 03 Chevy Silverado Z71? And what is difference between idler arm and Pittman arm?

+Jackie Andrus The part shown in the video does fit your application. It should be the same or a similar procedure. The idler arm supports the end of the center link on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The Pitman arm is a steering component in an automobile or truck. As a linkage attached to the steering box sector shaft and it converts the angular motion of the sector shaft into the linear motion needed to steer the wheels. Hope this helps you out!
