Nice ! I did mine too. Removed all 4 calipers. Sanded all the rust off. Red caliper paint. Then clear coat. Relubed everything. Even changed all rubber boot and caliper piston square seals (grease them with Renolit rubber grease Japan). Looking good in red !

Great video, I just replaced my rotors & pads yesterday and the calipers look like complete garbage, so they will need to be replaced. Your video gives me confidence that I can do it and it seems less intimidating.

Yes sir, you found it. I like the plastic clamp to close off the brake hose (gently). Thank you & good job! Sonny (CT)

As always, an excellent tutorial. Wouldn't it be simpler to clamp the line, remove the old caliper, install the new caliper and pads and then reattach the line?

I have heard others suggest shoving a valve stem in the fitting after you remove the hose from the caliper. That worked well for me as it’s surprising how well it fits but they are tapered so it works well. A worker at the store says he uses the end of a caulk tube. That makes sense too. Some are leery of clamping the hose as it may cause the hose to break down too. But other professionals do it so it can’t be that bad. I have always wondered if you leave the master cylinder cap on can the master cylinder run dry? I always wondered if it would create a vacuum at the top as air can’t fill the void by the loss of fluid this stopping the leaking of fluid at the hose?

Great videos. I have a front strut question for a 2014 Maxima. Do I have to go with a Monroe level quick strut ($250 each) or can I get away buying a less expensive strut (that I have seen online) and still get good quality? Thanks.

Do you think you could show replacing the rear CV axles? I know you've been replacing a ton of parts as they break but was curious if the rust got to them enough to help me out! I have the same year impreza only its the 2.5GT

When would you replace the rotor in this case?

Generally, if it's incredibly worn down and/or the brake pedal vibrates under hard braking. These rotors don't have much mileage on them.

The calipers on my daughters vw is the type that you have to twist in as you push with the C-clamp, do yo have to un-twist it somehow when you’ve gotten the new pads in? Thanks, I’ve never messed with that type.

Yes, Nissan's have the same deal for their rear rotors. This is a video I did many years ago showing how I completed the job. This will help - amzn.to/3ii6TKp kzread.info/dash/bejne/gK6a1rOecauWnMY.html

@@CarsNToys thanks a million man. So there’s no un twisting it back when the new pads are in I guess. So it’s not actually threaded. 👍👍👍👍👍
