Wow what wonderful instructions for this part! Based on my basic handymanskillset I can take on most projects but knowing where to start and what to avoid is the key to success the first time and A-1 Auto part videos do this for us for free. Even if their parts are a little bit more I always go with A-1 Auto parts.

Will this latch replacement fix my dome light turning on and the raideo turn off when I open the door on drivers door

Thank you for this video. I changed out the passenger side actuator on my 2007 silverado single cab following these directions. It wasn't exactly like my trucks setup, but all the parts were there minus one metal rod(it had a cable instead). Everything went smoothly and now I don't have that "passenger door open" notification anymore

I m trying to order this part but when I took off my actuator it has more prongs coming out of the plug. Yours only shows 5 and I believe mine has 7. What are the other two suppose to control and are they important.

I have a 07’ Colorado. The driver door stop locking/unlocking with key fob but the other three doors still respond. I can’t even lock the driver door with key or by manually pushing latch on inside of door. Would this be a bad or broken actuator?

I have a 2012 Chevy Tahoe that I recently replaced the passenger panel. The window rolls up and down but my mirror won’t turn and the door won’t lock. Am I missing something?

How do you reprogram driver side to work with key without setting off security alarm?

2003 Suburban threaded door lock rod clip replaced. I noticed the rod on the manual key lock is just dangling. I can't find a clear discription where it connects on to lock actuator. 😫 I'm stumped without pulling lock actuator back out. Any clues will be helpful. As I'm now able to open door with outside handle now obviously.

if the door is in the closed position' and won't open - what do you do to get it open so that you have this access?

Question.. the other day I put my key in the drivers door to unlock it , the key just turned inside the lock and won’t open, have no clue on my 2014 GMC Serria. Would it be the lock actuator needing replaced. Not a mechanic.

Ended up replacing it. It worked. Thank you for the detailed video. I was able to work on my own Avalanche and save money.

My drivers side window works sometimes on my 2008 Sierra 1500. The switch has been changed. The window worked for a while after that but now it's not. Any advice on what to do now?

+Candace Jackson Since there could be multiple reasons why you’re experiencing this difficulty with your vehicle, I strongly recommend that you have a reputable mechanic inspect it. They’ll be able to troubleshoot the problem and tell you what part or parts you’ll need for the repair.

I was considering installing some gloss black handles but after watching this for the first 10 minutes I suppose my black textured handles don’t look so bad after all. 👀

I replaced the door latch cable in my front passenger side door after the little ball at the end had broken off. after replacing the cable my door will still not open from the inside but will still open from the outside. when i reach into the door i can feel the lock moving on the inside of the door when the handle is pulled. would the actuator be what is causing this?.

GMC is one of the cars that has the most decorating problems

I replaced mine the old one when i turnd off the truck and open the door the radio will turn off now with thr new one the radio stays on 😔

Changed my 2012 driver door actuator and it didn't fix my issue.... doom light doesn't come on, radio doesn't turn off, instrument panel lights stay on

You don't have to take the door handle off right

No test?

Do you know how to open the door if the actuator has failed? The door will not open!

I have the same problem. How did you finally get your door open?

*Tip* The yellow clip on the actuator that holds the manual lock vertical bar: the new clip was so hard to open/close that I broke it when trying to reinstall. You may want to check it before you reinstall and if it is difficult, replace it with the yellow clip from the old actuator. Other than that everything worked great. Awesome video and awesome replacement part!

You said that cable has to be run on the outside, then put it to the inside…
